Colorado Springs Community Alliance Fundraiser Launch

Community Potluck Dinner Supporting the Use of Local Food

 

COLORADO SPRINGS -- July 11, 2011 -- Colorado Springs Community Alliance, a new non-profit organization, has been launched.  We are excited to announce that we will be co-hosting a first-of-its-kind potluck dinner for the community of Colorado Springs.  The emphasis is on finding local food to make dishes and get to know our neighbors.

WHAT: Colorado Springs Community Dinner

WHEN: Sun., Sept. 25

COST: Free, open to the public

CSCA is excited to announce our first project: the Colorado Springs Community Dinner on September 25, 2011. We are partnering with a local swap group, the Pikes Peak Community Cupboard.  This outdoor dinner is open to any resident of Colorado Springs.  This is going to be fun, and it's up to all of us to make this a success, an unconditional, mutual gift to one another.  This is a fully community-powered event.  We will each be responsible for the amazing turn out!  In order to fund the event, we are seeking community support by launching a Kickstarter fundraising program online.

 

ABOUT WENDY CARSON

Wendy Carson is currently the owner of Barely Escape, and has expanded her reach into the community by establishing a non-profit organization to fill specific unmet needs in the community.  The Colorado Springs Community Alliance will be focusing on local food which includes supporting backyard and micro-farms, gardening, and seasonal eating, supporting locally-owned small businesses, especially those who implement sustainable practices, and opening a brick-and-mortar retail community store
