An exhibition in residence at the Studios, Inc.

It's a Sign!  Is an exhibition of work done in residence at the Studios Inc. in Kansas City MO.  It is a collection of work completed in the first two years of the three year residency.  This body of work deals with signage very directly, so they are literal signs, but also "signs" of my journeys and struggles with faith, health, and life.  Pieces will include wall-mounted signage, and sculptural motion-sensor halos suspended from the ceiling that light up when you walk into them.

The challenges of fabricating pieces for this show is that I'm attempting to produce the signs in a more stable and permanent way. In the past, I've created similar work out of cardboard and glitter, wood and glue. These signs will be constructed from aluminum, and should be more durable, and true to the ideas behind them. I've already had some test pieces fabricated, so if setbacks arise in the process, I'm confident of being able to overcome them.
