Oyster Mushrooms from Home

A small project to demonstrate how to easily and inexpensively grow yummy and healthy oyster mushrooms from home!

This project hopes to create a model and youtube video series to show people how they can easily grow oyster mushrooms from home, wether they live in the country or a high-rise apartment. 

The model (growing box) will be a simple 4'x3'x2' (easy to fit through doors and in the back of cars) plastic enclosed box with hanging plastic tubes for the mushrooms to grow from.  

The video series will include 4 titles:

The Lifecycle of Oyster Mushrooms - This video will give the background of how these tasty mushrooms grow and what conditions they need to flourish.

Building and Setup - This video will show the construction of the growing box and how to start growing your own mushrooms.

Maintenance and Harvest- This one will detail how to take care of your mushrooms, when and how to harvest them and even a few tips on what to do with them once you have!

Into the Future - This is essential finally to the series will show you what to do to keep your system producing far into the future.

Poly Tubing (long plastic bags)

Building materials (lumber, plastic, twine, screws etc)

Starter mushroom spawn

Small mister and fan

As you know Kickstarter is an all or nothing funding platform. If the goal isn't reach the project won't be funded at all! So please please help make this a reality!
