We are starting this project in honor of the memory of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson. A Louisville native. A journalist. A legend. A man whom this city and the literary and artistic communities as a whole owe very much to. In order to expand the festival in his name, we need your help.

The Monkey Wrench, who has started this local celebration, is at the point where in order to continue and make the festival what it needs to be, is relying on you! Our plans are to create a globally recognized festival incorporating the liberal arts, the youth, the community, the music and the fantastic influence Hunter had on the world.

We plan to extend the festival to the streets, bring in a lot of cultural and journalistic elements and contests, acquire great bands and poets, and gear the festival to honor his memory in a worldwide level of respect and have a lot of fun doing so!

Taking place in mid October of 2012 in the eclectic Highlands neighborhood of Louisville, Ky…please do your part to help us keep the festival and the legacy of Dr. Thompson alive!!!
