MELODY AND THE OLD SOCK is a dark fantasy that follows a young woman named Melody as she comes to terms with the worst night of her life. With her trusty companion Old Sock by her side, she deals with the nightmare in her own unique way. Our film combines old school camera techniques with high production values in a story that will, dare we say it, blow your mind.  We're aiming for a Sundance festival premiere.

WHAT WE'RE DOING We’re raising money to resume production and finish our film. Though we planned carefully, we were taken off guard by the actual cost of shooting our exterior scenes at night, in the woods, with a large crew. Moving into interiors, we realize that we need the support of beautiful people like you to make this thing happen.

WHY WE'RE DOING IT A solid film starts with a solid story. This weird little monster of a script was so well received, by men and women alike, that we chose it to be the first Atomic Puppy Studios film. As you can see by the dailies in the video above, every department has brought a level of excellence that transcends our budget limitations, all for the love of the art, and the opportunity to collaborate and create something truly different and special. Your generous support will give us the resources we need to finish what we started, and validate the hard work and dedication of our tireless talent and crew.

WHAT IS KICKSTARTER? Kickstarter uses the "crowdfunding" concept to enable the many to reach the few. Even if you can't contribute much, your money goes really far when enough people get involved. Folks who contribute a bit more get some pretty nice incentives for being awesome, supporting the arts, and truly making a difference through direct involvement with artists like us :)

THE INCENTIVES are cascading. You get everything from the lower donor tiers when you donate to the project at a particular level.

That means, for example, that for $100.00, you get your name on the website, a PDF of the final shooting script, an electronic press kit, a hard copy of the shooting script with director’s notes and shot sheets, your freakin' name in the end credits, an autographed photo, a signed poster, a DVD, and a limited edition T-Shirt. That's a big whoppin' pile of sweet swag, in addition to being a patron of the arts and an all around fabulous person. And you ARE fabulous, but then, you probably already knew that.

WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH THE FINISHED FILM? Exhibit at major U.S. and international film festivals.

WHAT IF YOU DON'T HIT THE KICKSTARTER GOAL BY THE DEADLINE? When you contribute, Kickstarter holds the funds in escrow until the target date. If we don’t hit our goal by then, Kickstarter returns the money, the production gets nothing, and we’re back to square one with no cash at all. Yikes.

WHAT IF YOU RAISE MORE MONEY THEN YOU'RE ASKING FOR? That would be amazing. The more we raise, the stronger the film becomes, as every dime will be spent on production. A few projects on Kickstarter have blown out their goals considerably. We’d love to be in their company.

CAN I INCREASE MY PLEDGE ONCE IT'S BEEN MADE? You bet! Just sign in and click the “Manage Your Donation” button to enter a new amount, or choose a new incentive.

IS $10,000 THE ENTIRE BUDGET? Oh, heavens no. This is the amount we need to finish shooting.

WHEN DO INCENTIVES GO OUT? Incentives will be sent after we wrap in March. We’ll contact you to get info like T-Shirt size and whatnot.
