Update on Stockbox store and thank you's
Hello Stockbox supporters!
We are well into week 6 of our pop-up store in Delridge, with less than 2 weeks to go before we close up shop (no worries....it's only temporary!), so we figured this was a good time to give you an update on what we've been doing....
Our little store has only been open for 6 weeks, so it's a little sad to start prepping to close it down, but we honestly can't think of a better way to start this business. The prototype has provided us with invaluable information on how we need to design our store; our inventory/supply options; and our marketing and outreach needs. It has also enabled us to build stronger relationships with our customers who have been blown away by the inventory selection and pricing - and the fact that there's a grocery store in their parking lot!
Good Magazine, Fast Company, Komo TV, Q13 Fox, Grist, Real Change, city and community papers, countless national blogs, and even a few international sites covered the launch of Stockbox Grocers. We also have some more press coming out in the next few weeks (and months) in the New York Times, Seattle Magazine, Seattle Business Magazine, and the Seattle Metropolitan Magazine. And, to top it off, Stockbox hit the road in October, in order to present in the Entrepreneurship Showcase at the Slow Money national gathering, in San Francisco.
You officially are a part of something very big.
We have really enjoyed our time in the store and have met some pretty amazing people along the way. This experience has made us even more excited to move forward with our next steps. While it will be difficult to close down the store next week, this will allow us to rebuild our plans and launch something even bigger and stronger next spring. We are currently scouting locations for stores in Delridge, South Park, and Skyway, with the goal of opening 2-4 stores next year.
This means that we will need to secure some more financing and build more partnerships, but we feel confident that we are on the right track!
One of our biggest priorities post-prototype, is to prepare all of our thank you notes and thank you gifts to our Kickstarter donors. We really could not have done this without you and we have been actually anxious to sit down and write those notes! Thank you for your patience and for all of your continued support.
Still some time to shop!
If you haven't stopped by Stockbox yet, our last week might be a good time to do. We will be clearing out the inventory, with a big sale that starts this Sunday and goes until our last day on November 6th. Everything will be 25-75% off, including 7th Generation, Method, Newman's Own, Campbell's, Hunts, Western Family, Annie's, and more. This is definitely a good time to stock up for the rainy season!
We hope to see you in the store and don't forget to stay posted to Facebook, Twitter and our website for more updates on our next steps!
