Marc Sotkin (head writer, Golden Girls/Laverne & Shirley) hosts this public television series about the pursuit of happiness.
Hi, I'm Marc Sotkin. I was head writer of hit TV shows like The Golden Girls and Laverne & Shirley. For most of my career I've made people laugh. Now I want to find out what makes people happy. Public television has given me an order for 10 episodes of a new show called Stayin' Happy.
In each episode of Stayin' Happy I set out to discover what's making people happy and join them in their pursuit. In addition, we will be creating an online community of people inspired to pursue their own happiness.
The challenge is, because it's public television, we have to get the show underwritten. We have to find sponsors.
Our Kickstarter campaign is designed to raise money to produce the pilot episode of Stayin' Happy and build the Stayin' Happy website. Producing the pilot will help us find sponsors for the other nine episodes.
Potential sponsors will join us once they experience the pilot, our online presence, and see the enthusiasm of the Kickstarter community for a show that will create happiness in themselves and others.
