Not everyone gets to witness the miracle of childbirth, but Jules McHenry does it for a living. Not the movie version, though, but the real deal, r-rated stuff you see on National Geographic.

Patients that enter the OB unit of the Women’s Hospital in Chicago are expecting to have the best day of their lives, but Jules knows that sometimes it’s best to expect nothing to go as planned. But when they need her, Jules is right there to comfort her patients with jokes about boobies and vaginas, all with good intentions, of course.

She and her co-workers, Lizzy and Monica, find themselves as key players in their patient’s lives everyday. Sometimes they get so involved that they forget they have their own problems: Monica fights against her biological clock; Lizzy gets pregnant from one-night stands; Jules with her lack of self-confidence and secret fear of relationships.

These nurses, all at different stages in their lives, see the humor in everything that goes into the miracle of life. Even if that means they need to put their own on hold.
