The ECODADS (a 501c3 non-profit group of fathers who serve as change agents) seek YOUR help to enable the award-winning and insightful filmmaker, LOUIE SCHWARTZBERG, (who is one of our co-founding fathers) to make the Feature Length version of this inspirational, healing and beautiful short film GRATITUDE, which received a standing ovation at TEDxSF and has acquired more than 3 million views on YouTube, making it the most popular TEDx talk of all time.
YOUR BACKING RECEIVED BY ECODADS.ORG IS 100% TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
Upon completion of the film, Louie wants to offer the film to those who suffer from chronic pain (such as cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments, back therapy, kidney transplants and burn victims) at hospitals and treatment centers around the globe. He also wants to bring "Gratitude" on TOUR to screen at K-12th grade schools, colleges, faith organizations, senior care facilities and hospice organizations, as a means of support to help foster mindful reflection, thankfulness, health, balance and well-being.
Over the past year, Louie has approached many traditional Hollywood studios. None have been interested in expanding their vision, and taking the RISK to make this film a reality, because it doesn’t fit into their narrow, blockbuster strategy. The online response to Louie's inspirational videos has generated over 20 million views, indicating an audience hunger for this type of experiential content. He wants to create a new paradigm that is outside the traditional boundaries of the film industry to fill the unmet demand and deliver something that is revolutionary, emotionally uplifting, reflective and impactful.
To date, hundreds have commented on the film and many have posted how the film has "changed their lives" and have asked "when and where they will be able to watch the feature length film."
Your support will enable us to share this with even more people and change more lives.
GRATITUDE FILM BACKGROUND AND VISION:
The feature length version of the film will be broken into engaging segments, which deeply explore the value and foundational elements that make up Gratitude including: mindfulness, kindness, purpose, service, generosity, forgiveness, focus, awe and sense of wonder, vision, perspective and love.
Our plan is to shoot, produce and exclusively provide the first view of each of these segments to the entire community of backers (so that we can ALL collectively see the film take shape, evolve and offer our opinions) during the course of production.
This film is being produced at a time when the field of behavioral sciences (genomology, psychology, sociology, anthropology) are undergoing breakthroughs in those disciplines. Practitioners have started to broaden their scope and usage of inquiry tools, from ancient meditative practices, to MRI scans of the human brain, in order to more clearly understand how our innate connections (vs learned behavioral responses), social interactions and cultural dynamics are blossoming into new constructs and ways of being.
Gratitude will include stories of people whose courage, compassion and generosity to others produce a palpable sense of gratefulness … people who might range from a Sri Lankan banker who raised tens of thousands of people out of poverty through a bank for poor people … to heroic monks in India who risk their lives against armed guerrillas to rescue ailing children one at a time … to a blind American mountain climber, a Beijing bus driver, an Andean mail deliverer or a Kenyan home care nurse … all people whose lives of exceptional altruism inspire others, and produce the essence of Gratitude. Woven throughout the human stories, leading us from one to another, will be moments of profound observation from children who remain in close touch with our deepest instincts along side elders, whose wisdom and eloquence seem to re-frame the findings of science in simple, unforgettable poetry.
In the end, Gratitude will show that science and experience converge on certain clear elements of the satisfactory life, attitudes such as facing one’s fears directly, approaching life with continuing appreciation, with deep involvement and kindness to others, with cultivation of friendships and loving relationships. We'll discover that happiness involves simple things any among us can adopt. By living out the strengths and virtues of these qualities day by day, we can and will discover that … we can be happy and flourishing.
ABOUT THE FILMMAKER:
Louie Schwartzberg is an award-winning cinematographer, director and producer whose notable career spans more than three decades providing breathtaking imagery for feature films, television shows, documentaries and commercials.
As a visual artist, Louie has created some of the most iconic and memorable film moments of our time. He is an innovator in the world of nature, aerial and “slice-of-life” photography - the only cinematographer in the world who has literally been shooting time-lapse 24 hours a day, 7 days a week continuously for more than 30 years.

The film is a journey into invisible worlds that are too slow, too fast, too small and too vast for the human eye to see. He has received Clio Awards for Best Environmental PSA, an Emmy nomination for Best Cinematography for Oceans of Air on the Discovery Channel, and recognized as one of the top 70 Cinematographers for the On Film Kodak Salute Series.
Currently, Louie is developing Moving Art™, a vast digitally-accessible film library, which is the world’s first collection of moving images created specifically as fine art for digital display ranging from large-format monitors to mobile phones. Imagery that celebrates every facet of life, mood and emotion.
Louie is credited by many with pioneering the contemporary stock footage industry by founding Energy Film Library, a global company, which was acquired by Getty Images in 1997. Motion picture clients of his cinematic artistry include Sex in the City, The Bourne Ultimatum, Syriana, Crash, Men in Black and classics such as American Beauty, Koyaanisqatsi and E.T. among others.
