Ashes 2 Ashes is a new chapter in the Free Mars saga, an epic tale of punk rock, revolution, and the Red Planet. In this latest episode, Vikki Grimm and the band travel to the biggest shizz hole in the galaxy: Earth. Hoping to rescue the rebel leader, Damien Kessler, from the toxic zealots known as the Remnants, the girls discover that there are still darker forces at work on their homeworld.
Your pledge will insure the continued weekly update of the Free Mars website, as well as the completion and publication of the Free Mars Book 2: Ashes 2 Ashes original graphic novel.
Free Mars Book 1: Riot Girls is a 112 page, 6"x9", squarebound premium edition graphic novel in full color featuring production values well above industry standards. The retail price of this book is $14.99. This book is already printed.
Free Mars Book 2: Ashes 2 Ashes will be a 48 page, 6"x9", squarebound premium edition graphic novel in full color with the same incredible production values as FMBook1.
STRETCH GOALS: As of this writing, we are 103% funded and we want to thank EVERYONE who has joined us so far. We have FIVE additional goals in mind to help us speed up production and, ultimately, get another graphic novel completed in the coming months.

This ashcan focuses on the production and design work that goes into every page of the Free Mars universe. 'Going Live' features 24 pages of black and white artwork from the sketchbooks and pens of Free Mars artist, Nicolas Giacondino! 24 pages, 4.25"x5.5", saddlestitch, black & white, SWEET.
STRETCH GOAL #4: For helping us reach $15,500, FMBOOK2 PAGE COUNT will be INCREASED AGAIN! From 64 pages to 72 MASSIVE PAGES OF SWEET, SWEET GOODNESS!!! We're taking the 4 page short story that is exclusive to the print edition of FMBook2 and increasing it to 12 pages!

Nic and I have proven that we can do this. We've been publishing weekly updates for over two years. We impressed Ape Entertainment enough that they published our first two years into an original graphic novel, Riot Girls. We are well aware of the challenges inherent in comic publishing, we've been facing and meeting them for a while now.
So, why use Kickstarter for Free Mars? The more we looked at this option, the easier the decision became. Simply, we want to give you- our loyal, beloved readers- as much as we possibly can, the best experience we possibly can. We could keep going as we have, which is fine, but we now have a very real opportunity to do much, much more. Not only can we keep the weekly webcomic updating on time, but we can print a second book. Maybe even a third. We can also do Sisters Grimm concert t-shirts (which look amazing). We can give Chris Borer the go-ahead to sculpt more 30mm miniatures (Samantha is already done). We can do high quality art prints. We can do everything we’ve wanted to do to support Free Mars and expand the universe. A crowd-funding campaign gives us this opportunity, with your help.
