Update #18: EZ-Steady Shipping Update #9 & How to fly video

Posted on May 14
Hey Tribe, we're on track to ship the remainder of the Kickstarter orders early this week. We're so excited to get all of these out to you guys and get your feedback.

We have had a few issues with shipping. If you receive a unit with a bent stud on the bottom weight pack send us an email with a picture to support@rhinocg.com and we'll mail you a replacement. Also, if you get a unit with a thick weight that's stuck on the bottom weight pack give it a tap with a hammer to free it up.

Attached is a PDF that of 10 "presets" for different camera and lens setups. It will take out all of the guess work for using the stabilizer. If you feel like you have yours perfectly balanced, share you set up with us! What channel, how many thick and thin weights on the front and bottom packs. This help others get theirs balanced much quicker.

Hi Mirko- The last batch got shipped out on Wednesday. I don't think International backers are getting tracking emails though. Email us at support@rhinocg.com to get a tracking number sent to you.

Update #17: Rhino Steady Instructional Video

Posted on April 30

Hey Backers/Team/Rhino Tribe, some of you should be receiving your stabilizers today! There is an instruction manual included in your shipment but we created a little video that might be easier to understand.

Also, I wanted to fill you in that we changed the name of the EZ-Steady to Rhino Steady. This was done with future branding consistency in mind. Most of the products we create will have Rhino in front of whatever the product is ex. Rhino Slider, Rhino Rig, Rhino Dolly, etc. We're still figuring out how to manage the transition with SEO in mind since a lot of people are still searching for EZ-Steady.

Anyway, I hope you guys love them. Please email us at support@rhinocg.com if you have questions and if you like the Rhino Steady, share it! Tweet, Facebook it, post a video of it.  We want to hear your feedback. Thanks again,

Kyle

Update #16: EZ-Steady Shipping Update #6

Posted on April 27

We're finally shipping! This has been such a crazy journey and we're finally there. We have about 85 EZ-Steady's shipped out. We'll be assembling and packaging another 100 which will go out on Tuesday. Then a week or so after that we'll have the rest of the stages back from anodizing and those will go out. We can't tell you how much your support and patience has meant to us over the past 5 months. Thank you so much backers!

We'll be filming an instructional video today that will help you learn to balance the EZ-Steady (an instruction manual is included in your package too).

If you have any questions about the balancing or flying process please send all e-mails to support@rhinocg.com. We'll try and get back to everyone within a day.

In order for us to know if our EZ Steady is on the way, will we receive an email stating the tracking number and shipping details?

Congratulations on this final step of shipment.

We all surely can't wait to get our hands on them.

Update #15: EZ-Steady Assembly Update #6

Posted on April 12
Ok guys, our new handles have been made and are being anodized right now. We finally found a supplier that is quick and makes great parts! They should be at our door by the time we get back from NAB on Thursday. We'll finish assembling the first 88 and get them out as soon as we can.

After that we'll have another 96 stages back from anodizing and we can assemble and ship those out shortly after the first batch. The last thing we'll be waiting for is the remaining balance of the stage parts. Once again, after we receive those and they get anodized we'll get those out the door and all of you will have your EZ-Steadys!

We're so excited that this is coming together. We've had so many hitches and bumps but we've learned a ton with all of you riding along with us. We hope to take all of this experience and put it into the design and manufacturing of our new Rhino Slider which will be on Kickstarter in about a month. We'll reveal that this weekend when we get our prototypes assembled. Get ready, because it's going to blow you away.

I bet it will be August before we get these things. That's if were lucky. I just laugh now. I try not to even think about it. Maybe it will just pop up one day.

@Herman - Right you are. The sad part is looking at the latest update with the instructional video. Very compelling and quite useful for a product most of us don't have 4 months AFTER the planned shipping date. I'm seriously re-thinking Kickstarter after this and haven't backed a few projects I was interested in.

Update #14: EZ-Steady Assembly Update #5

Posted on April 4

Hi guys,

Here's another update about our assembly of the EZ-Steady. We got our first 100 stages back from anodizing and they look great. However, we assembled around 100 handles and after they dried we realized we had a major problem. They were binding up and not spinning freely as they should. We figured out that the there was too much space between the outside of the bearings and the inside of the handle tube. Somehow our epoxy expanded unevenly and cross loaded the bolt within the bearings causing it to seize. In simple terms they don't work. We tried to just put one bearing in the handles. That did work but there was some slop and wiggle in them that I couldn't accept.

So, we have engineered a new handle that will fit much tighter and ensure proper alignment of the bearings so they can spin freely. Over the course of being burned by a few machine shops we actually found one that can do work very well and very fast. They are already working on the new handles and they will ship to us in about 2 weeks.

I feel horrible that this happened and the project is delayed yet again. I am still committed to getting you your EZ-Steady as fast as humanly possible but it will have to wait a couple more weeks. By the time we get the new handles in we should have most of the stages back and anodized so we should be able to get all 300 orders out very quickly instead of in small batches like we had planned.

Please watch the attached video if you would like more details. Again, thank you for your patience and for sticking with us through this. It means the world to us.

      Kyle,
Thanks for the update and moreover thanks for not shipping us a product that you know is subpar. Your integrity allows me the patience to wait until you know your product meets your exacting standards.
I can't wait until you design a carrying case.
