WHO ARE WE

We are sugarSNAP, a start-up created by two best friends and moms of four-year-old twins. Our goal is to create new ways to help parents face the daunting task of gear management.

WHY WE’RE HERE

We're raising seed capital to place our first order of 1,000 Car-Go units, the awesome new product we’ve designed to help parents everywhere be a little more organized so life can be a lot more fun.

A LITTLE SUGARSNAP HISTORY

Almost five years ago, serendipity brought us together. We met at a pre-natal hospital tour when we were pregnant and discovered we were both carrying twins, due the same day!

Our first few months of motherhood were anything but easy. Joyous, yes. But also overwhelming. We felt the need to be prepared for any eventuality. Every morning was spent re-packing the diaper bag: diapers, wipes, cell phones, pacies, toys, snacks, sanitizing gel, burp cloths, wallets, blankies, change of clothes, bottles, and on and on and on.

sugarSNAP came to life one day at a local park. One of our four babies (we can’t remember who) was screaming, and we both dove into our black-hole diaper bags to find the paci, burp cloth, teething ring, you-name-it missing item. There just has to be a better way, we thought.

So we launched a company designing smart, stylish products to help parents face the challenges that come with trying to organize and manage all of the baby and kid "stuff" we inevitably buy, borrow and receive as gifts.

ON TO THE PRESENT

We've come to the Kickstarter community to help kickstart our business. The funds we raise will go towards placing the first order of our new Car-Go system. When we came up with our first product, the sugarSNAP Files, we knew we were on to something amazing. But we've invested most of our savings in its development and production. And that brings us to Car-Go...

WHAT, PRAY TELL, IS “CAR-GO”?

For busy families with babies and small kids, the car is home base. Well-prepared parents carry everything from extra diapers and clothes to snacks and toys in their trunks.  (Not-so-well-prepared parents [and there’s nothing wrong with that] wish they carried all of this stuff and often have to borrow from a friend or make an extra stop at the store for supplies.)

Car-Go is a compact, beautifully designed bin that holds all of your baby and kid stuff. Really, all of it! Car-Go fits perfectly in your car or SUV trunk, leaving plenty of space for a stroller, shopping bags, and more. It will eliminate the car clutter and chaos that plagues most parents.

The Car-Go system includes a bin and six beautiful 10” x 11” sugarSNAP bags, which keep items organized and quickly accessible. Five out of the 6 bags come with a pre-labeled tab on the top (like a filing system, you ask? YES, you’ve got it now!).

The set of Files includes:

• Toys + Trinkets: carries crayons, stickers, toys, books and more. This File is a lifesaver for restaurants and long waits
• Snacks + Supplies: keeps extra formula, sippy cups and pacifiers for baby on hand, as well as snacks (granola bars, raisins) for you
• Lotions + Potions: keeps sunscreen, sanitizing hand gel, diaper cream, bug spray and first-aid cream handy
• Dipes + Wipes: holds an extra set of diapers, wipes and a changing pad for those oh-so-frequent changes
• Shirts + Socks: keeps a change of clothes on hand, plus extras for accidents, spills or unexpected weather changes
• Blank/Parent's Choice: holds anything and everything from an extra blanket or burp cloth to a spare leash for your dog

We’ve even included a comprehensive, mom-tested and mom-approved packing list. Because who can’t use a little extra help getting organized so you always feel prepared?

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

This is our mission statement, what motivates us to juggle four toddlers between us PLUS two full-time jobs, along with launching a new company.

We know how important it is to support one another in this crowdsource funding community. Because there are two of us (and one of our husbands is also a big Kickstarter fan) the number of backed projects listed isn't accurate.
