Hey Sugar, have we got news for you!

Greetings Fabulous Kickstarter Backers,

We have lots to share with you today.

First, Stacy and I pursued our long-held dream of trying out for Shark Tank, as we mentioned in the last update.

Was it our dream to fly to LA and end up spending the night on the sidewalk waiting in line with hundreds - nay, thousands - of other hopeful entrepreneurs? Um, no. No, that was not our dream.

But! It was an adventure and if you have a set of the sugarSNAP Files and have seen the secret messages we included in each one, you know that one of our mottos is "Have a Taste of Adventure Every Day!" And let me tell you...spending the night on Ventura Blvd. in North Hollywood, California in a lawn chair purchased at a local Rite-Aid is QUITE the adventure.

We decided to document our audition adventure in a movie. (Well, the term movie is used loosely here...). Anyway, we have three short (relatively entertaining, we think) segments on line on our website here: HEY SUGAR SNAP

Please watch them in order starting with Video #1. I mean, this is powerful stuff, people. Think Coppola meets Bridemaids meets The Tree Of Life. You'll understand what I mean once you see the [ahem] film.

We haven't heard from the Shark Tank producers yet, so for now we wait and hope for the best. Wish us luck!

Also, we have great news about the sugarSNAP Car-Go, the awesome new product YOU helped make a reality! Below are some shots from a couple of weeks ago, you can see the process in action.

Behold the beauty that is the Wyatt (the black and white pattern with the bright fuchsia accent) and also the cheery Parker (the green-on-green pattern which has orange accents).

The Car-Go systems are en route now as I type, we expect them to arrive very, very soon and we couldn't be happier. We can't wait to send them out to our backers and also to get them in our online store.

Hi backers!

We're here with a couple of quick updates.

First of all, thank you, AGAIN, for your amazing support of our Kickstarter Car-Go campaign. We finished with over $8800 and more than 100 backers.

YEAH!

For those of you getting the sugarSNAP Files as your reward, we will be sending those out next month as promised. Be prepared to feel more organized and less-stressed. Your teeth may appear whiter and people may start asking if you "started working out" or "recently got a new haircut"? Okay, we can't guarantee THAT. But, we know when we use our Files to organize our bags, we really do feel on top of the world and we can't wait for you to experience this for yourselves.

For the lucky backers who will be receiving the Car-Go system, we're still planning on delivering those in July. Very soon, we'll have some awesome photos to share with you. As soon as we closed our campaign, we finalized an agreement and we can't wait to share the news about our manufacturing partners. Today's real news has to do with an exciting update ...sit down for this one: the sugarSNAP team is heading to Hollywood this week to audition for ABC's Shark Tank!

That's right everyone, we're hoping to make it on to the show for Season 4!

For those of you not familiar with the show,  Shark Tank is a reality series on ABC.

They are currently auditioning entrepreneurs and looking for "the next successful (and possibly wealthy) entrepreneurs, inventors, businesspersons, creators and innovators."

From their website:

"In each episode, budding entrepreneurs are given the unprecedented chance to make their business grow immediately.

Whether you just have a fantastic idea, are a start up or already operating successfully and looking to expand, if you feel you have a lucrative business or product and could use financial backing, then Shark Tank is just the show for you."

As contestants, you get to pitch your idea to a panel of venture capitalists and self-made millionaires! If they like you and your idea, they may choose to make an investment in your company.

We know competition will be tough, to say the least. But we think our sugarSNAP brand has some breakthrough products that might be of interest to the "sharks," and we could use the exposure of being on national TV, not to mention a sizable investment and the business acumen and professional connections of the judges.

So please wish us luck and we'll be sure to keep you updated on this exciting endeavor. Remember, one of our sugarSNAP sayings is: "have a taste of adventure every day" Normally, just working full-time, having four-year-old twins and launching a new business gives us plenty of adventure...but we decided to take a big risk and head to Hollywood!

So we made it past the halfway mark!

YAY. 

{YAY? No, really...YAY. It's all good, we promise.}

We are 57% funded.

But, that's still too close for comfort. We have 57 backers, which is beyond awesome, but we need a lot of additional backers in order to reach our goal of $8,000.

Anyhoo, I promised you (our faithful supporters) that when we made it over the $4k mark I'd post another video, this time featuring Stacy's boys, Andy and Wyatt.

As I'm still hoping that Kickstarter chooses the sugarSNAP Car-Go as a Staff Pick or, even better, the Project of the Day, perhaps this film will help.

Who can resist these adorable boys? WHO CAN SAY NO TO THE CHILDREN?!? (Someone with a dead, black heart, that's who.)

But in all seriousness, we still need a great deal of exposure if we're going to reach our goal in the next 15 days. Know any groups of moms, entrepreneurs or our fav  - "mompreneurs" - or even cat lovers (which will make more sense after you see our video) that you could send our Kickstarter page to?

Remember: besides the good karma and personal satisfaction of helping us, when you choose certain levels of pledges, you get our fabulous products! If someone wants to buy a set of the sugarSNAP Files, have them pledge at the $45 level. Or, if someone wants to pre-order the amazing Car-Go, they can make a gift of $65 which is a great deal. (Also known as a win/win!)

Networks of moms can pull together to accomplish great things, and right now, sugarSNAP is asking YOU to show us your love and support.

The good news is, we're half-way there. The bad news? We're ONLY HALF-WAY THERE. We're writing again to share a bit more about sugarSNAP (no, there won't be a quiz afterwards) in the hopes you feel compelled to try and help us spread the word about our campaign.

If we get just one donor from your outreach, our having to work on this sunny Saturday, taking precious time away from our little four-year-old twins [cue dramatic violin music here] it will all be worth it!

So, some info about how our products came to be... If you've seen our website www.heysugarsnap.com you know we both have twins, born just 3 weeks apart.

We could not believe how much cra--- errr, STUFF, we carried with us in our gigantic diaper bags. We figured all of those many pockets would keep this stuff organized, but we quickly realized that was not the case. We could not ever find what we needed.

So, because we're both entrepreneurs at heart (and we're crazy) we thought: WE CAN DO IT BETTER. And sugarSNAP was born.

This is the first product, the sugarSNAP Files - they will transform any frazzled mom (or dad) from an overwrought, stressed-out parent frantically searching for the burp cloth, paci or baby wipe into a relaxed, blissful Mary Poppins-type.

Once we realized we had a great idea (designing smart, stylish solutions to help parents face the daunting task of gear management) we quickly realized the next area of disorganization was the car. Every parent's car becomes a total disaster area and so Car-Go was created to help tame the chaos.

We carried the idea of creating an intuitive system for packing and organizing all your baby and kid stuff in one beautiful spot from the Files to the Car-Go.

This is one of the Car-Go Files, called TOYS+TRINKETS. This is the File we take in and out of the car, it's packed with all of the age-appropriate distractions so the twins can play, read or color while we grab a bite and actually attempt to have a conversation.

And here it is!

The Car-Go in Parker, with all of the Files packed and ready to go! It really does hold everything you need and leaves plenty of room for a stroller, skateboard or scooter; grocery bags and totes and those cases of wine you haul around, just in case. (Oh, you don't do that? Never mind.)

So that's a bit more of our story, please share our products and our Kickstarter campaign so we can actually get these Car-Go units manufactured and on the market!
