Kickstarter

Hi there!  

This is Caleb from Oakland indie-rock band CHURCHES.  Our band is really new - we've been recording and playing songs since this past January.  We've played awesome shows in Seattle, Portland, Oakland, Modesto, Davis, San Luis Obispo, Los Angeles, Santa Cruz and San Francisco, and  we've released a FREE 6-song EP, which can be downloaded at our bandcamp site.

We recently came together and wrote a song called 'LOVELIFE' - a song about the important issue of marriage equality.  We believe in this song and its message so strongly that we've decided to launch this kickstarter campaign to help the song get properly recorded and pressed on 7" vinyl.

As a gay Californian, and American, I find it increasingly disturbing that so many people in my home-state and country have gone to their polling places and voted against my right to marry whomever I choose - voted against my right to fully participate and engage in a meaningful relationship - voted against my right to have the same rights as everybody else.

We will use our kickstarter funds to transform this song from a home-recorded demo into a marriage equality anthem. ALL donors will receive a shout-out on the liner notes of the 7". AND donors that give $100 or more will be invited into the studio to SING on the chorus of the song!  Just think about it - YOUR VOICE immortalized on 7" wax!
