INTRODUCTION

UPDATE  3/27/2012:  Mr. Philip Chastain has graciously agreed to donate his services to help us get the website up and going.  As a result, $5,000 of our funding goal will now be devoted to donating copies of the book and manipulatives (at cost) to classroom teachers chosen by you, our financial backers! Philip, thank you so much for helping us move toward our goal and give back!

Dreaming my way across The United States is a picture book and teaching method to help kids of all ability levels learn geography.  The goal of this project is to have copies of the picture book and teaching manipulatives in schools across the country.

HARDCOVER BOOK

The story itself is in poetry form, and the visuals are comprised of a combination of scrapbooking techniques and modeling clay.  The book and method are already complete, and need only the finishing touches of a thoughtful editor.

ACTION

Our goal is to raise $40,000.  This money will help us print 1,000 copies of the book, create a website, produce the manipulatives and map, pay to have the artwork photographed, promote the book, develop an enhanced e-book, produce the music that will accompany the book, pay Kickstarter and Amazon, and package/ship the book and materials.  Any additional funds will be used to print additional copies of the book or further develop any of the other areas of the project.  Contributors can expect a tight budget and clear reporting of how funds were used.
