Conservative playwrights in a liberal medium spurring the passionate dialogue and real listening that being face to face demands.

My name is Cara Blouin and I want to host a Republican Theater Festival.

I have ten great new plays that give really complex insight into conservative ideas and the lives of people who hold them- but I need help to give them a great showing. Plays and Players theater in Philadelphia has been really generous in including us in their season- but I want to make sure that we have the lights, sets and costumes that will make sure we have the best production possible, and I want to be able to pay the actors, designers, directors, crew and the writers. Please help me get this festival done right!

Our festival has been met with a lot of resistance within the theater community- people are offended that we're inviting conservative viewpoints into what is usually a reliably liberal space.

We have the plays, the support of the theater, and a small, dedicated group of people who are committed to our goals of getting them produced, but not having the complete support of the community means it's a little harder for us to call in favors and ask for volunteers- that means more work for the participants, and I don't want to take advantage of their generosity or cause burnout!
