Hello there!
My name is Mal! I'm a songwriter from New York. I think if you're here you probably know me but if not, this is me!: www.myspace.com/malblum
I've been working on a new album for the past year and I'm finally ready to put it out, you guessed it, independently - along with a brand new music video to go along with it (and hopefully a small tour)!
So, here's the catch. Pressing an album AND paying for a music video at the same time is incredibly expensive, AND on top of that I'm graduating from college in May with a music degree (uh oh). Not to mention going on tour to promote the album! Wow! All that sure can add up! I believe I have some of the most supportive fans, friends and family in the whole world who will help me fund this project and I'm ready to give it a go.
The way Kickstarter works (if you're not familiar) is that you donate funds to projects you support and in return, you get fun rewards! It's all or nothing funding which means if a project doesn't reach its funding goal, it's kaputz.
I'm asking for $1500 to start with. $1500 will basically cover pressing the album and production costs for the music video. BUT it will cost another $1200 to close caption the vid for any network play and pay my share of the touring van this summer, so if we can raise more than that it will be a glorious and blissful summer!
