The Pantheon Project is a six-issue, full color comic book series for readers 16+ (contains moderate violence, moderate profanity and suggestive themes). All members of the creative team are Denver locals.
The story is about four teenagers who must face an amazing and dangerous reality when they are mysteriously granted the super powers they made up as children. I'm looking to paint a very grounded picture of young adults shouldered with an impossible situation how their actions/choices determine their fates. While I love the spectacle commonly found in the superhero genre, it's the stories with an unmistakably human center that remain memorable.
Where your money goes:
All money raised through Kickstarter goes 100% into production costs. We have very talented artists working hard on delivering the goods and I'd like to see them keep at it! They are all magnificent storytellers and we know this is a story worth telling. Help us do that!
We're producing 34 color pages of story with a cover (duh) and backup material to promote the story further. It's a good-sized first issue but vital in getting to know the players and giving them room to breath a little.
Milton Manners, Simon Cotey, Kelsey Radcliffe, Zhen Ferris and Oliver Grey - childhood friends whose collective imaginations created a fictional superhero team where each child had his or her own amazing super power. Milton Manners named this superhero team PANTHEON.
However, as the years went by and the children became teenagers, Pantheon and playing superhero were left in the past.
Fate would prove unkind to the creatively gifted Milton Manners. He was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor; a kind the medical community has never witnessed before. Milton turned inwards, completely removing himself from his friends and the world beyond the gates of his family estate. The more withdrawn he became, the more into his Pantheon creation he invested. He would draw his characters, write stories about them; essentially creating his own comic book universe.
Then, on Milton's eighteenth birthday, the tumor erupted and power exploded from his body, killing him. It was a sublime force that that changed the world, especially for his long lost friends who now have the powers they fantasized about as children:
(From left to right)
- Zhen Ferris - The goddess Divinity; master of arcane power and ancient mystics!
- Simon Cotey - The adventurous Firefly; half human / half alien soldier with insect-like wings and powerful weaponry!
- Oliver Grey - The mighty Machina; cybernetic warrior from the future!
- Kelsey Radcliffe - The valiant Vanguard; wielder of the mystical Excalibur!
These four teens must come together to uncover the mystery behind their radical transformations while struggling to maintain control over their lives. It won't prove easy as there are now other forces out in the world who want this so-called Pantheon out of the way…

Right now, we're estimating about $5 for international shipping of the smaller incentives. For the poster tube, schwag bag and/or original artwork, shipping will be higher ($11-13). We'll contact any international donors after the Kickstarter has ended to let them know how much extra the international shipping will be.
