A unique fashion show created by the students of the New York Fashion Academy.
Who we are:We are the senior students at the New York Fashion Academy located in Ballard Washington. Part of our graduation project is that the students have to put on a Fashion Show from beginning to end of our own original designs. From fundraising to after show clean up, we have to figure out how to make it work.
About the show:The fashion show is scheduled to debut in April 2013. We currently have 14 designers that are eligible to participate in the show. The show typically costs about $10,000, and the students have to come up with that money by fundraising and by ticket sales.
What will the money be used for:The money that we receive if we reach our goal will be used to secure the following:
- Professional lighting services.
- Piping and Draping the school (making it look good)
- Insurance for the show.
- Professional DJ services.
- Photographers.
- Cleaning before and after the show.
- Runway construction.
- Chair and equipment rentals
- Liquor licenses.
- So much more!

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
The main challenge of the project so far, is making sure that we have the funds to start securing services for the show. Without the funds, there is no show! Beyond that, a major challenge for each of the designers is the creation and execution of their line. This process includes so much time and work. Hours will be spent on perfecting illustrations, pattern work, fabric selection, fittings, getting models, hair and makeup, and all the finishing touches. Each of the designers has to commit their lives fully to make the fashion show match everything we have envisioned.
