About this project
We want to raise the money we need to legally and legitimately host the annual Portland Zombie Walk. The Portland Zombie Walk has never had permits for any of the previous Portland Zombie Walks. We want to ensure the safety and longevity of this event. Our first step is to obtain the proper permits, insurance, and registration to legitimize the 2011 Portland Zombie Walk.
The transition from an ad hoc flash mob event to an established street theater event will secure the longevity of the event. This is a positive response to the concerns of the downtown residences and businesses. A successful transition will create productive partners instead of vocal opponents to an event we all love.
Only through the support of participants, volunteers, and donors can we all make this years event safe, and legal. It is people like YOU that will provide the foundation for years of future generations of living dead.

FAQ
-
It is traditionally a October event and we see no reason that tradition will not continue. We are unable to provide a specific date/time until after the permits are secured.
-
This years walk is street theater and while you may see people engaging in this behavior, actions against random participants and spectators is not acceptable. Security will be present to ensure the safety of everyone.
If you are interested in being part of the theater please contact us and we can help make your performance memorable for you and everyone else.

The overall event is under four hours including the Zombie Makeover, Thrill the World and Zombie Walk

We completely appreciate and support the Zombie Hunters. We want as many as possible. But, realistic weapons, even with an orange tip, create a concern and distraction for the security and police department. More humor and less gore might be the better path.
If you want to fully express your Zombie Hunter maybe volunteering to assist with the walk and/or participate in one of the acts that will take place during the walk would be for you. Please contact us here on on the facebook page for more info.

No, and please do:) We welcome all people who want to watch the event even if they do not want to participate. We only ask that you do not dilute the event and respect the overall theme.
-
Camera phones and basic cameras are welcome. We do expect if you are in the crowd taking photos you will be dressed as a zombie.
If you want to take professional photos or video please contact us to ensure access to good locations.
We will have professional talent on hand to capture the event. They have provided a significant amount of time and effort to get this year's event to this point. They will have priority. But, we do not see any need to significantly limit others. Please contact us in advance to ensure positive collaboration.

This is Portland and many people have exotic and unique pets. Plus they are so much more lively than the term living dead implies.
