About this project
GUYS!
WE HAVE MET THE GOAL OF 15K! That's right. You guys did it! Thank you endlessly for supporting me to make this record. I go into the studio on Monday of next week to get this thing going, and I'll be sending updates as the process continues. Remember, the deadline for giving is this Thursday, October 27-so please keep spreading the word. The amount raised (which is incredible) only covers the basic costs of recording not the whole slew of other necessities that surround releasing a project (website, publicist, video). So, keep encouraging people to 'Sponsor a Song' to buy their album in advance!
Thank you!
Micah
Hello folks!
As silly and outrageous as the video above seems, I am enthusiastically serious about making my third studio album. I believe in these songs and that they deserve a place in your hearts, heads, and computer speakers. First, thanks to you for your continued support. I would not be here: in that suit, writing this note, or looking like a downright fool on camera without you. Second, the last 6 years of touring, writing, and selling songs have been absolutely incredible. In particular, I’ve had some great momentum in the past three years, logging many a tour date in my Honda Civic playing with a wide range of other rad, well-liked acts, getting great press from the likes of Southern Living to Paste Magazine to stinkin’ American Airlines, and helping start a great songwriting Collective with some of my friends down in Atlanta. I’ve also made a bunch of new friends and fans out west the past couple of summers in Oregon at a YoungLife camp. I’ve enjoyed my time sharing songs and getting some serious love out there.
So, I really want to continue making jams and getting them out to you. The music business is a wasteland of fierce cougars and dangerous bugs with long names and, sometimes, I think it’s too difficult to survive. But YOU can help become my brave battle partner in the wilderness. The major label is on it’s way out. Thus, I am choosing to finance my own dang album, and I want you to be a part of it. $15,000 is the minimal amount of money needed to create a competitive recording within my genre. We gotta pay engineers, mixers, masterers, players, print costs, art, and web people. I feel that this amount is doable with all the family, friends, and fans that have expressed invaluable support for me and what I do. Any money we can raise above this (let’s do it!) will pay for videos, a publicist, and really put a punch behind the release of the record. The only catch is: if I don’t raise this amount by October 27, I don’t get anything. Nada! So, tell your family, friends, karate instructors, talking dogs, coaches, and everyone else! Now, by partnering with Kickstarter and by launching the SPONSOR A SONG CAMPAIGN, I can partner with you in the coolest of ways. I’ve put together all of these pledge packages to say thank you for joining me:
-Covers EP
-Personal Thank You Letter with customized Spotify mix
-Band House Show and BBQ (we do the buying and grilling) at your house
-A limited editon “Sponsor a Song” Print with your sponsored song (Bluesy, Acoustic Aggressive Contemplative, Bearded Indie Mellow-Dramatic, HIT)
-A limited edition ‘Sponsor a Song” T-Shirt with your sponsored song (Bluesy, Acoustic Aggressive Contemplative, Bearded Indie Mellow-Dramatic, HIT)
- Acoustic House Show
-A song co-written, produced, and mixed by Micah
-and More!
Check it out: if you like my music and want to see it continue to exist for sale in the world, you can actually be a part of the success of this album. When you hear it blaring through your speakers you can say “I made this happen kind of.” If you say those types of things, of course. BUT YOU CAN ACTUALLY MAKE IT HAPPEN. So, I’m starting this recording on October 24th. I’ve enlisted an all-star cast to help bring these songs to another level. Producer Stephen Gause will be taking the helm and steering these songs into the hearts of America and the world beyond. I really, really, really believe in these songs and cannot wait for you to hear them. Remember-you're basically buying the album in advance and getting to hear it before anyone else. So, please, SPONSOR A SONG!
Thanks!
