"One semester, two students, 360 around the world, back for graduation." Help make this incredible adventure into a major TV series!

My name is Zach Baumgartner and I want to say thank you for checking out No Lands Too Foreign on Kickstarter. To fill you in on the project I’ll start from the beginning. Back during the fall semester of 2008 when I was attending film school at the University of Southern California, I thought of an idea to combine two strong passions of mine, traveling and film. I created a challenge to try to circle the world in my final semester and make it back in time for graduation.
What has come of this challenge has been years of planning, working, preparing, and executing something that at many times we felt was never possible. Yet, what is most important that has come from this challenge is over 120 hours worth of footage that tells a story of adventure, humanity, and the wonderful lessons from the cultures and people of this world.
With that said, we are not coming to the Kickstarter community to try to raise money for us to travel, we’ve already took on that responsibility and bankrupted ourselves doing it, yet what we are asking for is the help and opportunity to get No Lands Too Foreign to the final stage it needs to get to, a travel series on a major network.
We believe strongly that our story shares the fantastic lessons that this world is not as foreign as many people believe. That humanity is always abundant and that many people, no matter how different we may seem, actually hold several similarities. We believe that this adventure shows the benefits that can be held by learning and experiencing other cultures in this world. Therefore, we need your help to share those messages with as many people as possible.
Here is what your pledge towards No Lands Too Foreign would go towards:
- Distribution package to take to production companies and networks
o Costs for a graphic designer
o DVDs of the promo
o Designed cases of the DVDs
o A designed business plan
o Business cards
- Creating a pilot episode for networks and production companies
o Fees for composers and recording music
o Fees for an animator for the pilot episode
o Printing and packaging of the pilot episode
- Other various post production costs
o Upkeep of the website and servers
o More hard drives for the continuous amount of editing
We know that the bulk of the costs are behind us, yet sadly these last few things still add up. One way or another we hold the confidence and determination to get No Lands Too Foreign to its final goal, yet having your support and help would greatly enhance the overall success.
We appreciate your time and help so much! Keep spreading the word and thank you again and again for your support, it means the world to us!
