About this project
WIFE combines live contemporary dance with interactive projected animations/videos and original music. WIFE has been invited to create a new work for Native Strategies, a biannual journal and platform for performance art in Los Angeles, for their next issue and the forthcoming book that is being compiled as part of their 5-year project. This new piece, “Abaddon,” will run approximately 45 minutes long, and will include original music, sets, lighting, costumes, and interactive video projections. Curated and costumed by Ryan Heffington, the piece will be scored by four Los Angeles composers – Dorian Wood (who will also be performing live), Oscar Santos, Rodrigo Amarante, and Robbie Williamson, and danced by seven characters, including the three members of WIFE. The performance is inspired by 19th century ghost stories and the origins of theatrical lighting tricks such as magic lanterns and the very first projectors. "Abaddon" explores themes of madness, haunting, paranoia, magic, guilt, and possession.
"Abaddon" is the longest and largest scale production WIFE has undertaken. WIFE needs help! Money raised will be used to pay for lighting, sets, costumes, and equipment rental. WIFE is also enlisting the help of her many talented artist friends to create this experience. They are all professionals, and deserve to get paid. Please help WIFE create "Abaddon!"

She has been seen at LACE, Human Resources, Pieter, The El Portal Theatre, Dripped Fashion Show, and as part of the Bootleg Dance Festival 2011. WIFE's "The Grey Ones" was presented at the Long Beach TEDx SoCal event, and the recording of that performance also appeared on the The Creators Project. WIFE was born of three Los Angeles based artists: Kristen Leahy, Nina McNeely, and Jasmine Albuquerque.
