Update #4: Persimmon Accepted to Clermont Film Festival!

Posted on December 19

Persimmon, Biola's most recent Japan film, was accepted to the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival! Out of 5,703 entries, only 77 films were selected!

How awesome is that?!?

Check out the website! http://www.clermont-filmfest.com/

Update #2: So Much Good News!!!

Posted on December 10

First of all, we have a solid second draft of the script from our writer, Yu Shibuya!

Second, we have an exciting update from our director, Dean Yamada!

Shunji Iwai, an iconic Japanese director who most recently had a feature at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, has agreed to be the executive producer on Cicada. The Cicada team in Japan is extremely excited about this news because of the potential doors it will open for the film. Dean met Shunji Iwai because he was on the jury of the Sapporo Short Fest, where Jitensha won the Grand Prix. He's a big fan of the film and we are all excited to have him on board!

You can view his filmography here:
