"What is this, why do you want my money?"

"#Chucklefck" is/was the show that kept Cleveland's independent comedy scene alive and well, and it's still growing. The next phase is to produce a broadcast-quality version of the live show that we did every week. Featuring some of our favorite comics from Cleveland, plus a few out of town guests. We feel like others need to see what we were doing for so long.

"#Chucklefck" is one of the longest running independently-produced comedy shows in Ohio. It began as a comedy/variety show hosted by Carrie Callahan at Bela Dubby, in a small coffee shop in Lakewood. Not long after it started, Jim Tews took over and a few years later brought on its current host and producer, Ramon Rivas. The monday night show, though it has since changed venues, is a staple in the Cleveland comedy community.

What will make this different from any other standup show on TV?

We want to bring something different to the table. Something more interactive and personal. The live version of the show we ran, involved a lot of interactivity via social media. On a regular basis we used twitter, Facebook and even Chat Roulette to give our show an added element. The taped version of the show will be no different. Not only will we feature some great standup talent, but the segments in between will feature a level of interactivity that has yet to be seen in a live comedy show of this type.

Making things look good is rather expensive.

In order to produce a high-quality pilot episode of this show, one that other people will actually want to watch, we need to pay people who know what they're doing. We are shooting at Reddstone in Cleveland over the course of two nights, then editing the footage the following week, putting a few clips online, then shopping the final product around to people who can help us do something more with it. 

Your financial contributions will go towards things like:

• Camera operators
• Editors
• Production staff
• Compensation for performers
• Promotional materials

The majority of this will be funded simply by purchasing a ticket to the taping. But no matter what your contribution, you're getting something in return, and more importantly, you're supporting what could be the genesis of another big thing to come out of Cleveland.

We hope that this project is the beginning of something more. We hope to use this project as a launching pad for bigger and better comedy-related productions, and we don't want to ever have to ask you (our friends) for money again.
