      MY BOOK ARRIVED! And OMG this is really, really impressive. I couldn't be happier. I actually collect art books, and this is by FAR the most professional looking book I have, it puts everything else to shame including the Zelda Hyrule Historia. Leather bound, with gold pages? The binding is unbelievably fancy. I had no idea it would be this impressive when it finally arrived; I'm overjoyed just to have Doug's art in such a collection. But the quality really, really is top-notch.

      @Doug The top and bottom of the book were pretty reinforced, but the sides are just thin cardboard... that's me who @replied you on Twitter. Unless you doodled somewhere in the middle of one of the books, though, I don't see it or a sketch page. Signed, yes.

      @Minzoku, it's 10 bux a doodle in those books. You were sent two books. Did one of the books have a doodle in it? And you do get one sketch page with that book (I think!). If there's anything missing, let me know and I'll take care of it. Can you send a pic of the cracked spine? The Post Office would have to try really hard to pull that off! I think the stress of the ribs under the leather might cause cracking if it's really man handled. I'm still learning about the strength of this printing combo so your info will help me on future books.

      I'm seriously considering KS as a publishing option for other books, video games and projects. I just want to be very careful with what I choose to make, since not everything is going to work on KS.

      Definitely write your reviews on blogs! I read every one of them. I'm seeing HUNDREDS of photos going up on Twitter which is fantastic, but the longer form reviews actually help me to understand what you experience. It helps me to improve on future KS projects and know what my audience expects.

      @everyone, I sent out about 900 books as of Thursday, so give it a week before letting me know what's missing. We'll have a good idea soon what did and didn't make it (or what was hopelessly ruined!). I'll be mailing he last 200 or so USA shipments on Monday the 20th (starting with the $85 tier and going up), then it's on to the international orders. I'll do Canada and Mexico first, then the others, and probably Germany last because they require an additional printed invoice declaring every item!

      Hey Doug, just got the envelope of goods and must say, feeling lucky XD. Catscratch art is kinda crumpled everywhere there ISNT a drawing and the sketch is perfect. Also i feel the slight crumbling just adds to the whole insane, small scale garage feel of all this so keep up the good work :D...and fyi i got a childhood sketch...either that, or someones been living a lie O.o...and needs better spelling skills...and writing >.> .

      @Doug, good to know that more than $100,000 funded towards your work is worth so little. It's also good to know that you regard your own work so poorly - whether you think it's "valuable" or not. I would never sell even a $2 print and package it the way you did. If I would have known that I was singing up for this, I would have paid only for the $25 for the bare bones book. I'm sorry, but hearing this makes me not want to support you anymore. So please, excuse me for not wanting the art of one of my favorite artists destroyed in the mail - not "folded" nicely by the postman as you're implying, but damaged all over. You've permanently lost me as a collector and a fan. Good luck on your future endeavors.

I'm never that precious about my art, and if I was that precious about it, I wouldn't be giving away Catscratch art or my sketchbook art for so little scratch.

      Doug - I'm sorry, but that's a very lousy excuse. All you needed to do was put a single cardboard insert in the envelope. You're not sending anything framed, so bubble wrap would have been ridiculous and done nothing to protect the package contents. Insurance likewise would not have been necessary. It's extremely disappointing to receive them in such bad shape when it could have been prevented with a single piece of cardboard. I know that I am not the only person with a small mailbox that will have this, or more, damage. You can get cardboard for free, it's lightweight, and (unless you were borderline going over 1 oz in weight) would most likely not have upped the cost of shipping. If it did increase weight enough to qualify as a 2 oz package, First Class would have been about $2.21. I would have happily given you an extra dollar to not have everything damaged.

But to answer your question why anyone would send original art without protecting it is because I didn't charge you $75 for proper insurance, backing, bubble-wrap and tracking info. I can send you a replacement if you'd like... but it's still coming first class unless you want to make different arrangements.

      As a $55 backer I'm extremely disappointed. The original artwork was shipped in a thin envelope with absolutely no cardboard inserted to protect it. Because of this, everything inside the envelope is extremely damaged. You might as well have wadded it up and thrown it at me. Why would anyone send any original art without protecting it?

      This is just a heads up for anyone expecting their animation production art to arrive safely - it won't. If you have a small mailbox like me, it will be badly damaged/destroyed:
