Dive Documentaries is a visually rich travel guide for scuba divers, snorkelers, and adventure travelers. It is a database-driven website containing listings of popular scuba diving and snorkeling locations. The main feature of this database website will be the short-form documentary videos (2-5 minutes in length) included in each dive location listing.
I have spent the last 6 - 8 months designing the website and the database, and now I am looking for funding to produce the first 7 short-form documentary videos of popular scuba diving locations in Key Largo, Florida. These 7 dive locations include 3 wreck dives and 4 unique reef locations all bursting with wildlife! While this funding will cover the production costs of the documentaries for the first seven listings in Key Largo, the long term goal is to have a database full of popular dive location listings around the entire state of Florida.
In essence I am trying to provide a multimedia experience that will make the viewer feel like they are stepping inside of a good travel guidebook and watching a great natural history film all at the same time. Dive Documentaries combines the stunning visuals of natural history films and the maps and fast-fact textual information of guidebooks into an exciting audio/visual experience.
