The first three weeks!
My. Life. Is. So. Crazy.
It's been a little quiet around here lately, but that's all about to change. Since the end of our Kickstarter funding period, we've hit the Skallops hard. And without any further ado, ladies and gentlemen, I give you the last three weeks.
Packaging prototype:
We've got it! Check out the pics below. The prototype packaging pictured below isn't printed, though the final version will be. This is for the junior pack. The larger sets will be variations on this theme. They'll also have a clear, plastic window over the Skallops and cards, so you can open the front 'door' without everything immediately falling out. ;)

New Team Member - Robin:
Dear the internet! Meet Robin (we tried to recruit Batman first, but Bruce Wayne was busy)! She's a friend of ours from Caltech, and she's just finished her PhD in biology at Stanford. Meanwhile, she decided that academia just isn't the route for her. Instead, she likes poking things in the eye and managing lots of details. Over here at E&M Labs, she'll be coordinating distribution and logistics.

New York City:
One of the big sources of delay for this update is that Evan and I got the last-minute chance to attend the International Toy Fair in NYC last week. We just got back a couple days ago, but while we were there, we had the chance to talk to a fair few small retailers who are excited about the upcoming opportunity to stock Skallops in their stores.
Another Laser:
In order to get the Skallops out the door faster, we've applied for and received financing terms on another laser cutter. We'll be adding a 120W Epilog Legend 36EXT to our shop, right next to our 75W machine. The firepower of our (soon to be) fully operational battlestation (err... laser-cut toy workshop?) will make short work of cutting all the Skallops.
Backer Survey:
Backer surveys are going out as I type this. Of note, we messed up the subject line to all of our Starter Pack backers. Mea culpa. The subject line mentions your "Junior Pack", but that's just a typo. The rest of the survey is appropriate for the Starter Pack info.
Giant Pallet of Wood:
See that stack of wood there? Each of those sheets is 1/8" thick and 5' on a side. We're going to turn all that into Skallops. Oh yes we are.

Yours in laser-cut awesomeness,
-Michael
