Now let me explain a bit about Spinee. Spinee is a versatile all in one accessory for the Apple Earbuds & new Earpods (both mic / no mic versions supported) also the Apple 30-pin to USB Cable and the new Lightning to USB Cable. It also doubles up as a stand for virtually any apple product (all iPhones & all iPods except for the Shuffle). I wanted a product which combines an Apple headset that can be easily wound on and even easier to unwind off. It’s really important, when creating a unique design like this, for a product as beautiful as Apple's product line, that the device compliments or even enhances the overall look when they are put together.

Just spin your headset around Spinee, clip on the Earbuds / EarPods / Apple 30-pin to USB Cable or new Lightning to USB Cable. , and slide in the jack. Now the fun begins; throw it in your pocket, chuck it in your gym bag, stick it on your fridge door, kitchen counter top, or wherever your imagination takes you. Wherever theres a surface, Spinee will do the rest. 

Spinee has many uses and environments it can cling on to. Your headsets along with Spinee can be stuck on and un-spun from virtually any surface, whether its highly polished steel of an iPod, glass surface of an iPhone, matt anodised aluminium of an iPad / iPhone 5, a plastic refrigerator door or a windshield mirror of your car, Spinee will do the trick anywhere anytime. Even dare i say it, Android users will also be able to use Spinee on their phones, providing an Apple Earbud / Earpod is used.

Spinee also doubles up as a stand for virtually any apple product (all iPhones including the new iPhone 5 and all iPods except for the Shuffle). When Spinee is being used as a stand, it sits at the perfect viewing angle for leisure or work.

Spinee has a nice and compact feel to it. Manufactured out of high grade aircraft aluminium, it compliments all of Apple's high quality finished products. It sports a high quality grade suction cup at the back which will make it easy to stick on to just about any surface. Easy on, Easy off.

Spinee will come in two standard colours; Matte Grey Anodised Aluminium and Matte Anodised Black Aluminium.

These combination of colours will all compliment the new iPhone 5 perfectly, the new iPod Touch. Spinee will also fit nicely onto the 6th Gen iPod and the new iPod nano 7th Generation.

HOW:

SPINEE will be manufactured from high grade aircraft aluminium, using Die casting process by an internationally renowned manufacturing company in China. Once funding goal is reached, my CAD/CAM drawings will be sent to the manufacturers in order for them to create a mould, which will be made by the mould maker from steel and precision machined in order to form all the main features in and around Spinee. Once the mould is ready, it will go through the manufacturing process. To summarise, Die casting is a metal casting process that is characterised by forcing molten metal under high pressure into a mould cavity, where the aluminium will take its final form inside the highly polished / machined two part hardened tool mould for Spinee. Once the full production run of Spinee is complete, it then goes through a matte anodising process to give it its final colour and texture. Finally the detailed laser engraving on the face of Spinee is done to give it the final touch.

WHERE:
The company that will be responsible for Spinee's manufacture is a well known established company renowned for their quality worldwide, with two major awards under their name (Red Dot Good Design Award & IF Design Award). When it comes to choosing a manufacturer, it is key for me to have quality, precision and schedule at the foremost of my design manufacture ethos. Spinee will be manufactured in one of their many plants in Asia (China plant).

Manufacturing Plan for SPINEE:

Spinee will be manufactured in China.
(Timing is conservative and some of these items are concurrent).

Note: Amazon will hold funds for 14 days after payments are collected for Spinee, and it takes up to five business days for funds to transfer to our bank account. 

1. Transferring CAD data into first prototype tooling data: 2 weeks.
2. Cutting of first prototype tooling with any necessary revisions: 2 weeks.
3. Final production tooling and manufacturing of Spinee: 3 weeks.
4. Anodising, Laser engraving and Packaging construction: 3 weeks.
5. Air freight from China / Southern China to Oregon, Baker City (our US partner): 14 days plus upto 3 days for clearing customs.
6. Shipping to fellow Kickstarters / retail outlets: 2-7 days by local courier or general freight not including rail transit (US ONLY) (International shipping will take 5-14 working days, depending on location)

Based on the plan above, expect shipping by March 2013.
