Kickstarter

Dear Kickstarters,

We're ever so grateful for the pledges so far, and wanted to update our donors of our goings-on who aren't already following our every movement via facebook feed.  Also, our fundraiser is about 2/3 of the way to the goal with just a week left, so if you can, please show the kickstarter video to someone who hasn't seen it yet and tell them how wonderful we are.  We won't be collecting any money from you if we don't make the full goal, and it would be so heartbreaking to have come this far and not make it through!

This has been a busy month for Corpus Callosum, as always.  We threw our first show at our new rehearsal studio:  we set out chairs for 20, anticipated standing room for (maybe) 40, but were entirely overwhelmed and delighted to have upwards of 100 people come for the show, who made themselves quite cozy sitting on every step of our staircases, across the landings and bannisters, and criss-cross-applesauce all around our feet.  Thanks so much for the show of support, it made us all so happy!

Yesterday we performed all day long at the Whole Earth Festival in Davis and are now getting ready for performances at the Clockwork Alchemy festival (May 25th) and the SubZERO Festival (June 1st), with Dax also exhibiting his puppets at Maker Faire this coming weekend (May 19th/20th).

We are charging ahead with our preparations for tour.  Our travel plans now include 26 performances in 22 cities, starting in Austin and ending in Seattle.  A handful of the dates are already booked and the rest are hopefully on their way, thanks to all the bands and friends of friends who have been helping us find contacts in distant lands!  We'll be posting dates to corpus.cc/shows as we confirm them.

In between rehearsing for all these local shows we've been toying with new arrangements of songs for the tour as well as looking at new material.  Attached is a quick video of Avery's newest song, recorded just minutes ago after practice, on which we spent the evening developing a harmony & counterpoint on banjo, mandolin, ukulele and bass.  (There is only Avery in the video - sorry that we forgot to get the camera out while the rest of the magic was happening.)
