About this project

HILLBILLY HOLOCAUST is my 3rd ultra low budget feature film. It is to be filmed in full 1080p HD in early June 2010, and will be distributed digitally through my own website; www.digitalgrindhouseentertainment.com. There is also interest from an established company to distribute the film on dvd and to cable television both in the US and overseas.

HILLBILLY HOLOCAUST follows five friends ready to enjoy a weekend of fun in the country. Things turn bad quickly though, when an altercation with a local landowner arises from their trespassing on his property.
The script treads familiar horror film territory with a fresh new take and plenty of twists, turns and riffs on typical horror genre stereotypes and cliches.

The film will be filmed over 3-5 days in early June 2010 during my vacation from my day job, mostly in and around my hometown and my mother's country property.

The majority of the cast and crew (comprised of experienced and award winning actors and crew from the Kansas City area) are already in place and prepared to make this film for no-low upfront pay. There are however, things that will cost money even on an ultra low budget film. All proceeds raised will go to these things and anything over the amount needed for said items may be spent attempting to cast a "b" movie celebrity in the film.

A large hard drive to store raw footage on and edit from. HD video files are extremely large and hard to handle. It takes a very large hard drive (or two) to hold all of the footage that will be shot to edit a feature film.

Food and drink. Though the cast and crew are willing to work for free, we will need to feed them and offer them drinks, as we will be filming in the country during one of the hottest months of the year.

Makeup and special effects. From the beginning, we have planned to make this film look like it was filmed for a lot more money than it actually was. This includes ambitious makeup and special FX that will require many raw materials for fake blood, gore, head casts to blow up, etc.
We do have access to an experienced makeup FX artist, but he will require a small amount of pay and we will have to cover the cost of materials.

Any money raised over our goal limit will go to cover miscelaneous expenses. If there is any left over at the end of the shoot, it will be divided evenly among the cast and crew.

I have plenty of experience in independent film and know that we can make this a great film with money to cover the expenses listed above.
