Hello friends...
We are getting closer! And I have all of you to thank for that.
I am so touched by the support... of your kind generosity!
This evening I am going to be featured on the Size Acceptance Salon hosted by Ivan Greene of the FAT IN NYC blog, featuring Corinna Makris from This Lush Life and A Celebration of Curves. The Size Acceptance Salon is generously sponsored by More of Me to Love.com. Both Ivan and Corinna have been monumental in the promotion of FAT GIRLS FLOAT, and the best thank you I can give them is the completion of this film project. As a 300+ pound woman, I thought the best way to share the secrets of the fat world should be told by an insider. The world of size acceptance was introduced to me via accident, by a guy while I stood waiting for a train at New York City’s Grand Central Station in 1994. I’m thankful that he unknowingly led me to my people.
Upon entering the fat/BBW world, I found an avenue for friendship, resource sharing, art, and a story to share with the world. Touched by the stories I have both experienced and witnessed, I decided to share story of the collective plight, including my own, to lighten and enlighten those willing to listen. As a size activist, I testified at the Massachusetts state senate against anti- discrimination in the work place for height and weight in 2008. I feel life should not wait, despite your weight. It’s true, fat girls do float.
