Funds will pay a foundry for casting sculptures & for building 30 pedestals for the sculptures made by my 6th grade art students.
I need to raise money for a sculpture project and exhibition with my sixth-grade art class at Johnnie Cochran Middle School. I’ve already received donations of supplies – microcrystalline wax and carving tools – to plan and carve hand-sized wax sculptures. We will then have them cast in recycled aluminum from cans that we collect. The funds will be used for casting the sculptures at the foundry and purchasing materials to build 30 pedestals for the exhibition. The exhibition will be in late May or early June at Human Resources in Chinatown in Los Angeles.
I constantly push them to see the possibilities in themselves that they don't know exist yet. They push themselves to think beyond my expectations.
