FINALLY!  The story of HOSTILE OMISH is going to be a Feature Film!

Hostile Omish are Cleveland’s legendary punk band with hit songs like "Mohawk", "Generation Zero", "Subway (The Parody)", "Hay" and "Bedford is Burning".  

Hostile Omish have toured the nation for 25 years and have played with all the greatest punk acts, including The MISFITS, The DEAD MILKMEN, CIRCLE JERKS, D.R.I. and the BUTTHOLE SURFERS. 

The SCREENPLAY IS WRITTEN. The story is funny and filled with great punk music. It's "The Blues Brothers" meets "Napoleon Dynamite".

The LOCATIONS ARE SET and crew is being recruited from the film community and among the legion of Hostile Omish fans.  Now, with your help in development funding, we will bring to the big screen the story of the band's amazing journey from the green fields of Amish country to the punk music scene that produced the soundtrack for a generation.  All the funds generated through Kickstarter will be used to make this movie happen.

The project will be filmed in Ohio’s Amish country and in music venues around northeast Ohio.  We will be shooting in HD, and anticipate three weeks of shooting.  Casting will begin in June, with filming to begin in late August or early September.  The form of legal entity for this project will be a limited liability company.

Story Synopsis

It’s 1986. Skwid, Filth and Davey Schwind are Amish teenagers living with their parents in an Old Order Amish community outside Middlefield, Ohio. The Schwind boys are rebellious by any standards, but by Amish standards they are absolutely a menace. All three are in their time of Rumspringa, a time when young Amish are permitted to engage in acts which would otherwise get them excommunicated.

The young Schwinds are taking full advantage of their Rumspringa, drinking, smoking, racing  around the countryside in a 1969 Ford Torino they call “Blitzer” and most of all, listening to music. The boys know traditional rock and roll, but they love the metal and punk rock music they hear on college radio. They spend weekends hanging out in an abandoned barn which Davey has equipped with a massive stereo system. The barn is party central for the Amish kids on Rumspringa.

An Englisher (A non-Amish person) shows the boys the basics of guitar playing, and before you know it, they are writing songs with Filth playing guitar, Davey playing bass and Skwid on percussion. Playing secret concerts in the abandoned barn becomes the most popular activity among the Amish youth. The Amish Elders become aware of their activity, however, and the Schwind boys, now joined by excommunicated guitarist Flankel, are brought before the Council of Elders and forced to choose between their music and their life as Amish.
