Judi Bari inspired tens of thousands to defend the Earth. Help our movie qualify for the Oscars and inspire tens of millions.

Hi, I'm Darryl Cherney, I produced Who Bombed Judi Bari? alongside Director and long-time friend Mary Liz Thomson. We think we made one of the best and most inspirational documentaries of the year and are actively distributing our movie independently and non-stop to get it seen by as many people as possible. It has been accepted by over 25 festivals, won 4 'Best' awards, including the nationally-prestigous Golden Eagle Award, and is scheduled for commercial theatrical screening in a number of indie theaters. However, to truly put Judi Bari's inspiring story at the forefront of the mainstream of global consciousness (not just the choir), we need to qualify for reviews in the New York Times and the LA Times, as well as for an Oscar nomination, by screening in  New York City and LA for 7 consecutive days before the year is over. We plan to do these runs by mid-November, but it all takes serious money.  And we want the 200 documentary judges at the Academy to watch our movie!

While we have had offers for DVD/digital download distribution, no classic film has ever gone straight to DVD. We think Who Bombed Judi Bari? is well on its way to becoming a classic, and one that can raise consciousness in the world. Before there was Occupy Wall Street, there was Redwood Summer-- and our 93-minute feature documentary draws from 700 hours or archival footage to allow viewers to experience Redwood Summer and the colorful Earth First! actions that inspired supporters and threatened the status-quo.

When a pipe-bomb exploded under the driver's seat of Judi's car while she and her  passenger and organizing partner Darryl Cherney were on their way to an recruitment event for Redwood Summer 1990--she was very nearly silenced forever. And when the FBI and Oakland police arrested her and Darryl, it sent shock waves through the environmental movement. But Judi wasn't going down that quickly! She survived to help save large tracts of redwood wilderness, to organize a victorious court case against the FBI and Oakland Police, and to tell her story, which lives on through this film.

Our movie has four goals: to inspire activists, to educate on activist tactics and strategies, to secure Judi Bari's rightful place as an historical figure, and to renew an investigation to finally answer the question: Who Bombed Judi Bari?

We are so very grateful for those of you who have already helped fund our movie. Now we need everyone's support to bring this to the larger world stage. Please spread the word and give what you can now. Every single donation and every person you share this with brings us closer to our goals-- lets make this project go viral! Thank you!
