Update #3: WE HAVE MET THE MINIMUM!!!!
Whoo Hoo!!!! With 50 days to go, we are 14% over the minimum necessary for feeding our cast and crew and the location fees. (Happy Dance). Yeah!!! We've actually started looking at talent for our "names". I was talking to some actors down in Los Angeles today. I should know more by Friday. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!!!!
We're getting ready to start filming on Friday. Last week was a busy week. Location scouting included 3 sites within about 30 miles of Salt Lake City proper. I've been working a lot with the Utah Film Commission and the Film office in Ogden, Utah. Kinda strange, but we seemed to have managed to find some places that can double for Virginia.
In an effort to get more name talent attached, we're going to have the "Battle for 300" where we will try to get a minimum of 300 backers at any dollar level.
Promotion opportunities are fantastic! This week I'm going on the "Marcus in the Morning Show" on 94.9 ZRock here in SLC. Marcus has signed on to play a disc jockey. Next week I'm heading to the CBS morning show of local radio station KUTV. The week after that I'm on the "Awkward Hour" with Brian Staker...Gonna be fun!!!

Update #2: Cast Added - S. Edward Meek & Kim Sonderholm
We are proud to announce the addition of S. Edward Meek to the cast of BLOOD FARE. An on set dresser for HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2 who broke out with his acting debut in the Miranda Cosgrove starrer WILD STALLION will be playing the role of Civil War Corporal Henry Trout.
International action star, Kim Sønderholm, fresh off appearing alongside of Eric Roberts in WESTBRICK MURDERS with the experience of starring in over 100 films and TV series joins the BLOOD FARE cast as Professor Malick, a Civil War historian.
As we move forward with our casting, I am excited that the script is now in it's THIRD official rewrite. Over the next few weeks we will be holding auditions here near Salt Lake City for the main cast. We begin second unit filming of the Civil War battle scenes next weekend, August 13-15.

Update #1: New Teaser Poster
Hi All,
Just a quick howdy "hi"! Thanks for all of your support. We are 43% there! Co-Producer Christian Koch through together a quick teaser poster. The Cannon is actually from the Civil War Re-enactment group we have doing the Union/Confederate skirmish at the beginning of the film. We have Scottie Meek http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1828257/ playing Henry Trout. He did the Voice-over and is featured in the Teaser Trailer. Next week is location scouting as we work with the Utah Film Commission to secure locations.
Today, we played with some test footage from the Canon T2i and are awaiting software updates from Avid (our software editing program). Everything is still on target to begin filming on August 13th.

One of the few female action film directors in Hollywood, and one of the first western women to study the art of Muay Thai kickboxing in Thailand. J.A. rocked the film and music industry in 1999 with her first feature “The Third Society”. J.A. drew on her experience in working on at least two dozen other feature films to write, direct, produce, edit, and music supervise the 35mm film which was released by Warrior Entertainment in 2003. “The Third Society” has won Steel numerous awards, including the 2004 Bare Bones Film Festival Indie Auteur and Best Soundtrack awards. Past projects include directing and hosting for the documentary television pilot “Dive the Deep Blue” and starring as the Alien Bounty Hunter in “Cerebral Print”. Steel’s second feature, “Salvation” was released in June 2007 by York Entertainment. “Denizen,” Steel's third feature was released in 2010 by Indie Flix. An action Civil War themed feature, "Blood Fare" is currently in development for a 2011 release on the 150 year anniversary of the Civil War.
