So Far So Good

Update #20 · Apr 26, 2013 · comment

As of two weeks ago, Curt finished the artwork and layout for the chapters and we sent out the last of the pdf subscriptions.

Curt is now putting together supplemental art and will be focused on getting the cover and map designed. We're on schedule to have everything completed by the end of May, go to print in June, and have the books in hand by August.

Eddie is bidding on printers and making the final edits to the manuscript based on the feedback we've received. He's also trying to shake a cold. He's been indoors for two days straight. And he hasn't brushed his teeth. He smells like a crime scene.

We'll try to update more frequently as the project nears completion. We hope you have an awesome weekend. And as always, thanks for your support.

Update #19 · Mar 8, 2013 · comment

Curt is almost done with all of the chapter art. We have 5 more issues to send out to our subscribers. After that, a map, a cover, and some fictional advertisements/montage.

The manuscript is going through a final overhaul as well.

We're looking at having the entire product ready to go to print by May, shipped back to us in July or August, and shipped out to you.

For those of you in the Southern California area, stay tuned for details on our book launch.

That's about it for now. More later. And as always, thank you for your support.

Just An Update

Update #18 · Feb 1, 2013 · 1 comment

So it's been a while since our last update. Hopefully, you're still keeping up with us on our Facebook page as well as our website: www.parabolis.com

- We've posted pictures of the 1/6 action figure going to our anchor backer on our tumblr. Be warned, it is a spoiler, so don't look at it if you don't want it to influence your reading experience.

- We've found a quality printer offering competitive prices

- Curt is more than half-way finished with the book and it's coming along great. We're estimating Parabolis will be complete by May/June, fully printed and in our hands and shipped out to you by August/September.

- Bad news: We didn't get accepted into San Diego Comic Con 2013.

- Good news: We got accepted into SDCC's little brother, Comikaze Expo in L.A.

Other than that, all systems are still "go." Stay with us and keep the feedback coming for those of you who are following the weekly subscriptions. They've been invaluable to us. And once again, thanks for helping us make this happen.

Parabolis.com

Update #17 · Dec 28, 2012 · comment

- For those of you who celebrate the holidays this time of year, hope it's been a good one.

- We now have our official website up and running:

http://www.parabolis.com/

Check it out. Share it with your friends. Put it between two slices of rye and make a sandwich out of it. If you missed the chance to order the limited edition offset-printed copy, you can do that there. For our second tier and up backers, don't worry, you're already getting the offset-printed copies, numbered, and exclusively signed by Curt and Eddie.

- Curt's taking a break to recharge his creative batteries. Eddie's using the time to implement some final edits and do a little polishing work based on the feedback we've been getting. Please keep them coming. Despite hiring editors back-to-back-to-back, some errors and glitches still manage to slip through the cracks and your eagle-eyes are the final defense against poor grammar, misplaced punctuation, redundancies, and redundancies.

-Issue 10 is on its way.

-We wish you all the best for the coming New Year.

Wait...who drinks Zima?

Update #16 · Nov 30, 2012 · comment

Hello friends.

For those interested in how we run things over here in the Parabolis mill, here it is:

1) Eddie gets two chapters every week from his editor. He goes over the edits, then sends them off to Curt in bundles.

2) Curt forces inspiration down his throat, chases it with a Zima, then draws.

3) Curt then marries the text to the visual element (layout and artwork), and sends the completed issue to Eddie.

4) Eddie sends them out to you.

5) Sometimes, based on your feedback (or for no apparent reason at all), Eddie tweaks the narrative in various stages of production. Then he has to get those tweaks screened by the editor, send them back to Curt who has to put his metaphorical pencil down (because it's usually a wacom tablet pen... or a half-eaten crayon) and make adjustments to the final product. Of course, this draws out the entire process like a Turkish film death scene, but it also means the final printed version of Parabolis will be that much better, right? We can hope.

Issue 6 (Chapters 10-11) has been sent out. Check your spam if it's not in your inbox. And once again, thanks for your support.
