Project Technical Update

Hey we added a section on the technical aspects of the game engine here's an overview.
Vampire Cities has been in production for 10 months. The first incarnation of Vampire Cities was to be a game with no graphical element - combat would be determined and the results shown to the player in text. We did a previous Kickstarter proposal based around that earlier design, and got a lot of great feedback which made it obvious to us that we needed to redesign the game. We cancelled the Kickstarter and got to work, and this proposal is the fruit of our labours since then. As the graphical element of the game was not part of the original design, we do not have that much ‘game’ to show - but we assure you we have done a lot of work on the backend, which is why this proposal is entirely feasible.- HTML5 MVC game engine

Hey Everybody
We are cancelling this Kickstarter campaign.
THIS IS NOT A BAD THING.
WE ARE STILL MAKING THE GAME.
THIS IS JUST PART OF THE LEARNING PROCESS
### Why are we Cancelling ###
We are trying to make a entirely new type of game.
We want to make games that blend some of the best bits of some of our favorite online games and take that experience out into the real world.
Thats a really hard thing to do.
The process of making new games is very hard and takes a lot of trial and error even when we know the type of game we are trying to make.
We are very experienced game designers but even we don't know what the perfect location game will eventually look like.
Kickstarter is a great place for us to ask “you” the players what you think of our ideas at an early stage so we don’t have to spend a lot of time building features you don’t like or need which costs us time and money.
After all we are making games that you guys want to play.
We are extremely pleased with the feedback we have received about the project.
I would like to thank you all personally for your support and your feedback.
Alan
### So What Happens Next ###
You obviously love the idea of real world gaming as much as us and like where we are taking Vampire Cities.
The current game is in the very early stages of development and it’s hard to imagine what the end game will look like.
Because of Kickstarter and your feedback we have a much clearer picture now of what we should build.
We are not going to stop development of the game.
The next stage for us are to build some more of the game and then show you guys so you get a true sense of the game we are making.
We will take the game back into the lab and work on the gameplay and put that up into our testing server and get you to try it out.
After we get some more feedback on the game we will take it back out to Kickstarter again but we don’t see that happening for a while.
We are very happy that Vampire Cities is going in the right direction so we just need to build some more game for you to play.
If you would like to help us in the early testing please send me a mail at alan.odea@simplelifeforms.com
If you would rather wait until some of the bugs have been ironed out and play with more people just head on over to the vampire cicites website and signup at www.vampirecities.com/signup and we’ll let you know when we are ready to open the lid.
