Update #3: Pinataland t shirts and album update
Kickstarter friends:
The first batch of t shirts have gone out, thanks for your patience!
If you haven't sent me your size / gender preference, no worries. Just let me know and I'll get a t shirt off to you asap. You can contact me through kickstarter or by shooting me a note at dougmaxstone@gmail.com.
If you did send your info but don't receive your t shirt in a couple weeks, or if the size of the shirt isn't right, no worries! Just let me know and I'll fix it. Your satisfaction is my goal.
In other news, the new Pinataland record is progressing nicely, we're aiming to be completely done with it by the fall.
Thanks again, more news to come.

Update #2: Progress!
Dear Kickstarter friends,
Yesterday, Pinataland drummer Bill Gerstel laid down the final drum tracks for our new record, a menacing song called "The Death of Silas Deane". This magical moment occurred on Dean Street, named after the subject of the song, a hapless American Revolutionary who may or may not have been poisoned. So the record is underway and sounding great.
In other news: t- shirts! We have a new, great, hilarious, perfect design, and the shirts are going into production immediately and will be sent directly to your home within the month. If you are getting one, it would be great if you could send me your MAILING ADDRESS, SIZE and GENDER preference.
Thank you so much! We're really excited to make music (and some cool shirts) just for you. You are the best.
Love,
Doug and Pinataland
Update #1: uh...
Wow, we are really quite touched. A third of the way there in just a couple days. In the immortal words of Sally Field, "You think I should not have starred opposite Burt Reynolds in Smokey and the Bandit. You think it should have been Pinataland." She was high, but still...I agree with her. That's basically what you're telling us.
Anyway, thank you a thousand times over, but I do offer this dire warning...should we not achieve our goal, your moneys will be returned to you...covered with blood! Whose blood? Who knows! Just be sure to pass on the link to our page here!

Doug Stone is a performer, songwriter and co-founder of Pinataland, a more than a decade old musical collective whose aim is to write, record and perform original songs about largely forgotten events and people in history. Their music was described by The Onion as "epic swatches of spaghetti-western, Appalachia, and folk sounds.... obscure tidbits of history with an enthusiasm that speaks more to deep-seated fascination than gimmickry."
Pinataland has recorded four CDs of original songs and has performed at historic sites such as the Edison National Historical Site (where they demonstrated wax cylinder recording), Brooklyn's Green-Wood Cemetery and underground in the abandoned Atlantic Avenue Tunnel. They have appeared on NPR's "Weekend Edition", David Dye's "World Cafe" and New Jersey's beloved WFMU. In 2004 they were named "Brooklyn's finest dark old weird world history orchestrette" by the Village Voice.
