My project entails turning a old (short) school bus into a food cart in Portland, OR. I am currently running a screen-printing business with my husband (his dream) and would love to pursue my dream.
I grew up eating amazing Thai food my mother made for me. Things I never get to eat anymore, because they are non-existent on every menu in a Thai restaurant I have ever been to. The menu entails items that Thai people actually eat on the street or in their homes. Some of it is regional, but all of it is really accessible to everyone.
I am trying to raise money to build out the bus with equipment, plumbing, electrical and get it mobile so I will be able to sell food in front of the screen-printing shop in the parking lot (mostly), at the farmer's market, and all the amazing festivals in the Pacific NW such as Sasquatch, Bumbershoot, MusicFest NW, PDX Pop Now and more.

Since we have a screen printing shop at our fingertips, we would love to incorporate this into our menus and business cards. Another idea we came up with was to have our menu on a larger sized postcard with a new artist's artwork on the other side and have "art openings" every 1st Friday (which is our neighborhood's art walk)

Worked in kitchens my whole life. Dishwasher, busser, server, bartender, expediter, pastry chef, line cook, sous chef. Now, I own a screen printing shop with my new husband. Still dreaming of roasting chickens everynight, I realized that I need to follow through with my dream of cooking great food for people. We have a small bus sitting in the parking lot of our shop. This is the vehicle that will be turned into a food cart. I'm trying to get the people in this town to appreciate real deal legitimate Thai food. The Thai food that my Thai mom made for me as a kid. No Pad Thai will be on this menu, just dishes close to my heart that most people have never experienced.
