About this project

The Big Busk is a new music festival for downtown Portland. This is its second year and we're off to a better start but we need help to make it as great as it can be.

Through Kickstarter you can tip the bands you like even if you can't make it to the event!

We also need money for promotional material (posters, sidewalk chalk) and to secure an afterparty venue. Also, I'd like to properly document the event with photos and recordings.

Its success last year was limited by me trying to do it all myself, from gathering bands to building the website to promoting to arranging the bands downtown throughout the afternoon and then meeting with them all as they played. And I tried to do it all in under five weeks. I just didn't have the time to plan essential things like a pre-event meet-up or an afterparty, or to think of better ways to promote the event than quick emails to columnists and bloggers.

There are more heads behind this year's event than mine, so there's no question that it will be better than before. But with a little help we could make it better for all involved.
