First and foremost, I want to say that the project is still rolling! Not only that, it's ALMOST DONE!!!
This past year has seen a significant season of change in my life, as well as the lives of many folks who helped out on this record. The recording process has been slow, grueling, and at times, frustrating and hopeless. In fact, I might have even pulled the plug had I not made a commitment to all you wonderful people that we'd get you a record that embodied our best efforts at this music thing.
So we kept at it. And we did it.
Because of your commitment, we were inspired to keep chugging away, and we ended up with something even more wonderful than we could have imagined a year ago. We're absolutely excited to get these songs out to you; the process itself was ridden with divine fingerprints. Here are the details:
We're calling the album EVENTIDE -- a fancy word for that time of evening when the sun sinks underneath the horizon. It's a line from a hymn text we decided to use in the album, in a song called "Abide With Me," which was given a wonderful melodic makeover by the talented Justin Smith.
The album is in mixing right now and is scheduled to be mastered next week. We expect a release date sometime in April -- I will let you know the specific date once it's set.
We were able to work alongside a diverse group of musicians and engineers. Their talent continues to floor me as I listen back to the rough mixes.
I do apologize for being incommunicado for the better part of 2011. Let me assure you: I'm so absolutely thankful for your contributions and support and plan on seeing this thing through to the end. I'm not going anywhere. :)
God bless, and see you soon!
