Appendix Project Space hosts 8 resident artists in 2012. Help us purchase the airplane tickets and materials that make it possible.
Appendix Project Space is an non-commercial gallery and art residency site in Portland, Oregon, with a focus on emerging artists and experimental formats. Resident artists share domestic space with the curators and use the gallery space as a studio for the duration of the three- to four-week residency period, during which they develop and present new work. We will be sharing meals, providing transportation, offering critical feedback and facilitating discourse with the local art community.
During the upcoming season we will be hosting 8 artists from different parts of the country, and will make this more financially feasible for them by purchasing plane tickets and construction materials. To fund this, Appendix offers its backers a selection of digital works, limited-edition prints, 3D-color-printed sculptures, and curated audio/object compilations by former and upcoming Appendix artists. Any additional funds increase the pool available to artists for materials and fabrication.
We believe that our local community, as well as a global community of artists and audience members, is served by the experimentation and interchange generated by our resident artists, and it is the privilege and mission of Appendix Project Space to promote their level of critical and aesthetic engagement.
