Our little “ladies” collect nectar from the numerous wildflowers located around our neighborhood and the Chippewa Valley. The seasons and location of the hives greatly influence the essence of the honey. Our late springtime yield vastly differs in flavor and hue from the Autumn harvest. Our town honey is a floral bouquet while the country honey is richer and darker in color. Wouldn't it be fun to explore these subtle differences in aroma and taste? Curious about what really goes on in a hive? Are you a teacher or have inquisitive family or friends? Got questions? We have answers! Gather round the computer screen and we will dive into one of our hives and give a tour via Skype. This 1-2 hour Lesson can be tailored to suit your curiosity. For this reward we will go beyond virtual tours and get into the action! You will be suited up and given a live tour of our beekeeping operation. Adopt a Hive! Your name will be placed on a hive in the form of a plaque and during next years season you will be sent frequent reports on how your ladies are doing! At the end we will also send you a one pound bottle of Honey from your hive! Fascinated with the idea of having your own bees? It is very exciting to taste the honey collected from your own neighborhood! Not to mention personally assisting in the pollination of nearby gardens and fields. We will purchase and setup a hive just for you! You will host a hive on your property for at least one season and receive ten pounds of the honey harvested from your hive! Note: You must be located within 30 miles of Chippewa Falls for our ease of regular maintenance. The hive is owned by West Hill Honey and must be returned on demand after one season. Longer stays can be negotiated.
