Update #4: Best of 8static - by Ben Mason
One thing I love about 8static is all the people with unique skills that come together every month to make it happen! One of those talented dudes is Ben Mason, a local photographer. You could call him our official photographer.
For a year he's been coming out and shooting pics of 8static and faithfully posting them on his flickr account, which you can check out here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/su1droot/ To contact him, check out his actual website here: http://locutus.the-collective.net
Here is what Ben had to say about 8static and his 8 favorite photos, posted below:
Throughout the images taken at 8static I try and capture the energy of the (musical) artists and the passion they create together with the amazing visuals created by the visualists. I find the combination of the two together is what makes the performances at 8static great.

Update #3: Another song from the Philly chip music compilation!
The second audio clip we have is a 1 minute sample from an unreleased Chipocrite song: You're Fired!
Chipocrite first played an open mic at 8static in the summer of 2009. Since then, he's been back to play more open mics and played a killer set at The Khyber at the end of December. He'll be playing a full set soon at 8static, too! You're Fired! is the perfect example of Chipocrite's fun, upbeat, danceable style of chip music!
Check out his MySpace here: http://www.myspace.com/chipocrite
The full version of this song (and many more) will be featured on the exclusive MP3 compilation of unreleased tracks by Philly area chiptune artists - available to people that donate $10 or more!
Enjoy!
Update #2: How do you turn a yoga studio into a chip music venue in 4 minutes?

Update #1: 48 hours in..
..and time for the first update! I never thought this would be a thank you / we did it update! The last 48 hours have been unbelievable. We've made it to blogs, been tweeted all over the net, and featured on the front page of Kickstarter. Thank you everyone for your generous donations and helping us reach our goal within the first 24 hours! We are blown away by your support and thrilled at what lies ahead in the next few weeks of this campaign!
Now, my original intention was to frequently update with information about the rewards: audio and video clips, pictures, and more.. so let's get to it!
The first audio clip we have is a 1 minute sample from an unreleased Ro-Bear song: Paint the Tiger, Carve the Swan. The full version of this song (and many more) will be featured on the exclusive MP3 compilation of unreleased tracks by Philly area chiptune artists - available to people that donate $10 or more!
More to come soon, so watch this space!
