About this project
8static is Philadelphia's premier monthly chip music event! In just over a year 8static has hosted over 60 unique acts from around the world. More than just a concert, each month features a free workshop and open mic session for up and coming local artists.
We are proud to be 100% DIY. 8static is curated and run by chip artists and fans from Philadelphia. Our venue is Studio 34, a yoga studio and art space in West Philadelphia. We're all ages and committed to bringing great artists to Philly for everyone to enjoy while providing a space for the local scene to meet up, hang out, and party!
However, running the event the way we do isn't easy! Keeping 8static all ages at a unique community venue is important to us, but costly. Local artists provide the entire sound system, from the mixer to the speakers, as well as the video mixing setup and projector.
Now we need a little help - because we want to continue to bring in the best artists and provide the best sound and video possible. Your contributions will help us buy what we really need: a subwoofer, on stage monitors, and a projector! Right now we've pieced together some of this equipment, but we need dedicated gear for the future of 8static!
Times are tough, but with your help we can do it! We are proud to offer incentives for whatever you can manage to donate. Your contributions will directly improve the look and sound of future 8static events!

Your choice of either Teletime or glitchNES 0.2 for your NES, and limited edition Cheap Dinosaurs CD. Teletime is an album by Animal Style available exclusively on a cartridge for your Nintendo Entertainment System. glitchNES 0.2 (by NO CARRIER) is the new, improved version of glitchNES - a cart for your NES that causes visual corruption and graphical glitches similar to hardware circuit bending. Both carts are extremely limited edition. The Cheap Dinosaurs CD is his first release with special hand-made packaging for the Kickstarter campaign, each one unique. And of course the compilation, CD's, print, and t-shirt listed above.

For the first five backers at this level, you also get your choice of a Pocket VBLANK board, Pro-sound mod NES, Pro-sound mod Game Boy, Amiga 500 with ram expansion, or Sega Game Gear with 8 games. The Pocket VBLANK is an auto visualizer created to produce lo-fi visuals that sync to music. These pro-sound mod systems were modded by Animal Style for better sound output. All donators at this level also get a free one year pass to 8static and special VIP treatment! Of course you also get the CD's listed above, shirt, cart, and pixel art print.
