Horoscopes empower people to find meaning in the tedious repetition of life. Self-help guides ask people to be proactive. Dating columns encourage people to seize every romantic opportunity. Reality television gives hope to that one person who believes they deserve alone time with a millionaire or that charming average Joe.

   My Date Blew Me Off asks, “What happens when that hope decides to break its promise or feels like staying home instead?” This project illustrates how romance meets reality, how unrequited love meets an imaginary friend, and in doing so, illuminates the nuances of loneliness.

6 pieces from this series will be shown in a group exhibition in Miami Florida from June 9th - July 20th. The funds from kickstarter will pay for the printing, framing, and shipping to the show.

UPDATE: due to the cancellation of the show, the funds will be used to print and frame in the meantime, and future shipping if the show gets rescheduled.
