Twitters, Facebook posts, new backers, friends raising pledges, backers on the other side of the planet raising pledges -- WOW!!! Someone stop this campaign! We're only 64hrs and $306 short of reaching the goal! THANK YOU SO MUCH, EVERYONE -- this is really INCREDIBLE!!!
We're almost there!! Only 4 days to go!
With people from ALL OVER THE WORLD helping us out we've built an amazing momentum in the campaign these past few weeks!! Aside from so many of you here in the US, Rusty and Lola now have friends in every corner of the world -- from Australia to Finland, Japan to Argentina!! We're really humbled by your generosity. In fact, it often leaves us speechless. You've been beyond generous, especially in the faith that you have put in us and this project. We won't forget it and promise to deliver a beautiful game that you will be as proud to have supported as we will be in making it :)
In the past few days, our momentum has been really fantastic -- we were just two thousand dollars shy of our goal and steaming ahead when Kickstarter.com updated the look of their site yesterday. While we really like what they have done visually, the update has had a very unfortunate effect on our campaign -- although we are a 'Staff Pick', we no longer show up on the front page for anyone except those of you living in our little town of Santa Fe, New Mexico! This has REALLY slowed us down. In fact, had this been the case all along, most of you would have never found us as you live ALL OVER THIS GREAT PLANET!
LAST BIT OF EFFORT
So, because of the Kickstarter redesign hiccup, we'd like to ask you for one last bit of help -- Please tell your friends about Rusty and Lola! Post a link on Facebook, send a link on Twitter -- anything you could do to bring them back to our Kickstarter page. If everyone of you convinced just one person to make a $5 pledge, we'd make it to just the last few hundred dollars. Once there, we'd be all set, because one of you has already promised us to raise their pledge to make that last bit happen!!
A couple indy gaming sites have picked up our story recently. Gather Your Party has asked us for a fun interview and Valid Gaming has written an extensive game preview. Both of these sites serve a great cause and are a big help to indy gaming efforts like our own. Please check them out!
We have made the HD version of our short film available for an IMMEDIATE download as a THANK YOU to all OUR BACKERS!
Although the film was shown in this format at many festivals and you can see it in 720p (half HD) on our site (click the full screen button), it has NEVER been made available for viewing and/or download at FULL HD 1080p and is not currently available for purchase at any retailer. In other words, this is both a premiere and an exclusive :)
As an 'nstaCharge backer, you can downloaded the film in either divx, quicktime or both and play it on your computer or television in FULL HD!
To download the film, please read the instructions in UPDATE (#6),
which will be visible exclusively to our supporters.
To view the film on your TV, you'll need to either burn the divx file onto a DVD or copy it onto a thumb drive and plug it into your video player. Most DVD and Bluray players produced in the past few years can read divx files from a DVD, but only some can read a USB drive. Divx films also work great on a PS3.
Thank you for all the support you've given us these past 20 days!
We hope you enjoy it :)
We've been busy doing a lot of R&D on the look of the game. The image above is one possible way we'd like to approach the 'desert' environment. Most of the geometry is extremely low-poly and we're only using a couple small texture maps both of which should result in great performance on mobile processors.
We'd like to think of this as only a 'starting point' as we'll be adding as much to the visual complexity as the mobile processors can handle. Whatever we end up with, we'll be able to push it a notch or two further on the PC/Mac versions :)
We'll post more of these as they become 'presentable'. Hope you all like it!
Two days from now, we'll also announce an exciting new reward that we'd like to give to ALL OUR SUPPORTERS and make it AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY!
Please stay tuned! :)
