Hi Kickstarter!

Thank you for taking the time to read my proposal.  I need your assistance to bring my novel to publication. I need help paying for the layout, design and editing professional services so that my dream can achieve the best quality possible.

I am a long time hobby writer and long time fan of sci-fi and fantasty. I have been efforting a steampunk book for over a year. My goal is to have it completed and published in time for Christmas this year.

Synopsis:

It is the year nineteen hundred and ten; two years after the Treaty of Deutsch Göttliche Autorität ended the Great Consolidation.  The Kaiserlich Deutches stretches across the continent of Europa, east to the borders of the Kingdom of Russia, west to the waters of the English Channel, and south to the colonial Kingdom of Italy and the Mediterranean Sea.  German colonies thrive in Africa, South America and in Asia, sending home raw resources to feed the always starving German war machine.

It is a time of tension.  Imperial Germany is the sole super power of the world.  Great Britain and her colonies prepare for what seems to be an inevitable war.  The Kingdom of Russia roils and twitches like a dying serpent; the remnants of Russia being rent asunder by civil war as the peasants rise against the Tsars.  Italy is little more than a puppet power, a colony in all but name, barely more than a kingdom on paper.  Spain and Portugal dare not test the might of the allied Empire of Germany and the Ottoman Empire.  Both Empires attended and executed the peace treaties of Berlin following the end of the Great Consolidation.  America is a seen as a distant safe haven, a dream of freedom just out of reach.

This is an alternate world, where science creates magic, where mad geniuses run free and havoc follows.  Steam power and the Industrial Revolution have risen to heights only dreamt about in our reality.  Clockwork and Medical sciences have given life to the inanimate.  Fleshly constructs are crafted from fallen armies to wage war.  Clanks, clockwork robots brought to life by mad science, fight and haul and serve their masters’ every whim.  Airships great and small blaze trails of smoke across the sky.  Massive trains power from the Atlantic in the West, to the Pacific in the Far East, from the Arctic in the north to the Mediterranean in the South, and beyond, down into Africa.  These massive, mechanical centipedes crawl across the continents, hauling freight and soldiers to every corner of the world.  Massive knights in steam-powered suits of mechanical armor lay waste to all about them.

Persephone's Doom

Persephone's Doom: A Journey in Steam - my working title.  Persephone is the airship and home of Captain Julian Custos and his crew.  The story of Persephone's Doom will share the tale of the crew's struggle against the dark Empire that has conquered Europe.
