Update #20: Official Canine Chronicles website launch & Press on ABC News
We're excited to announce that our official site caninechroniclesbook.com is now live! On it, you can see some cute animated portraits of our 10 dogs, see our behind the scenes videos in one spot, join our mailing list, or pre-order a book if you aren't already receiving one as a reward.

Update #19: A visit the Printing Press & Sneak Preview!
I (Winnie) recently went to San Francisco, where Alice lives, and we had the opportunity to visit our printers for Canine Chronicles together. We crossed the beautiful Bay Bridge and descended on to Berkeley, where our printer is located. They specialize in small run, fine art publications. It was really exciting to touch and feel the various cover materials, see samples of other books in print, and discuss all the possibilities for our book. We're close now to sending in our final proof, and we're really excited about being so close to the finish line! So we want to give you a taste of how the book is coming along by showing you one of our layouts (not in its final form but will give you the idea). We'd like you to meet Sydney, the canine companion of Charlie Chaplin. Thank you again for your support and your patience!

Update #18: Featured in PDN's Emerging Photographer
We know you have all been patiently waiting for the book to arrive. We don't have a hard launch date as of yet but will have one soon, so hold onto your hats! In the mean time our work was featured in an article from PDN's Emerging Photographer Fall 2011 Issue.
Winnie had the opportunity to sit down with Lea Golis, Senior Photo Editor of New York Magazine, for a portfolio review. Two images from the book are in the article. It's exciting to see the images in print, and we can't wait to see our first proof of Canine Chronicles soon. Thanks again for your patience and we hope you had a Happy Halloween!
Update #17: The canine companion of Steve Jobs
We can't believe it's already the end of August! We've been furiously working away at the layouts for Canine Chronicles and corresponding back and forth with our printers. It's all taking a little longer than we expected, but there are a lot of details to attend to when making a book. Thank you so much for your patience, and we promise the wait will be worth it!
In light of the recent news of Steve Jobs stepping down from Apple, we wanted to share with you one of the final images that will appear in Canine Chronicles. Meet the canine companion of Steve Jobs, featuring the beautiful Siberian Husky Beau. We carefully deconstructed a computer and painted it to make the backdrop for this shot. Below are some step by step shots from the making of the backdrop. Thanks again to our intern Joey Gonzalez for creating the artful arrangement for this shot!

Winnie will capture your pet on beautiful medium format film with a classic camera, and your pup will feel like an important historical figure for a day. A portrait session includes up to 2 hour session time, 8 × 10 contact sheets of all images, scanning of film and retouching for one final select. Alice, Cindy, and Winnie are three sisters who collaborate on creative projects. San Francisco-based designer Alice has nearly 12 years industry experience, working for major corporations and startups alike in the retail and cosmetics industries. Brooklyn-based writer Cindy has 7 years experience working as a freelance writer, copy editor, and journalist. And Brooklyn-based photographer Winnie has been photographing dogs for the past 5 years. Her domestic dog portraits were just featured in the Sep/Oct 2010 issue of The Bark magazine, and they have also been featured in Time Out New York and in PDN's Best Friends Photo Contest.
